Decent blog by a City fan of the match. Very complimentary to both team and fans.

Haha - she missed BOTH city goals.

So funny to see when they scored their first to potentially make a match of it, there were City fans milling around the concourse, saying there was a rumour of a goal and ambling slowly back to the entrances, as others were coming down onto the concourse. Such passion for their team!

Watching him play football is just lovely:

Absolute class. That little dink ball for Sadio's second was perhaps my favourite moment of the whole match. Pep of course will know all about him from their Bayern days and I was a bit surprised they gave him so much room in the first half especially - or maybe they didn't and he made fools of them anyway.

She needs to learn how to spell Niamh as well.

Seeing how many missed their first goal was brilliant.

So Keita started V City..mmm..

Fantastic first half, careful to come out fully focused this time and we took the game by the scruff with Konate ripping through them.

City had a slight chance to mount a historic comeback, but they lacked the desire. At 1-3 I thought they would put us on the rack but they just don't have that fighting spirit. The type of comeback we are known for, it's in our DNA but City just fizzled out apart from the last 5 minutes.

Shameful by their team and even worse by their "fans".

There's a City fan on RedCafe that is always an intelligent poster. Today :

Yeah you guys dominated the midfield. I think going 2 v 2 in there (not counting Fabinho and Grealish) I think Fernandinho was too slow, so its Bernardo vs Thiago and Keita and well you guys dominated.
2nd half was a bit better but you were a bit more cautious. The end of these games is always weird, should have never been 3-2 in fairness.

I don't think you guys played well enough to score 3 and we certainly didn't play well enough to score 2. Fair winners in the end even if you did nearly muck it up.

Needless to say I think he's wrong about us not playing well enough to score 3 ... I think we should have had five !

Jack Grealish makes claim to rile Liverpool fans after Man City FA Cup defeat
Manchester City missed out on a place in the final, although they almost pulled themselves back into the game late on at Wembley.

Jack Grealish insists there “only would have been one winner” had Manchester City taken Liverpool to extra time at Wembley on Saturday.
City’s FA Cup run came to an end at the semi-final stage as they were beaten 3-2 by their title rivals at the national stadium. The Blues were ultimately left with too steep a mountain to climb after falling 3-0 down before half-time, with Sadio Mane’s brace putting Liverpool firmly in control.
City did threaten to stage a remarkable comeback in the second half, with Grealish pulling a goal back immediately after the break. Bernardo Silva grabbed a second late on to set up a tense finish, with Liverpool just about holding on to their lead to book a place in the final.

The Blues were ultimately made to pay for their poor first half showing, despite a much-improved performance in the second-half. Grealish is adamant, though, that City were just moments away from finding an equaliser and would have gone on to book their place in the final had they found it.
"If we had another five minutes, we would have got that goal. If we had taken them to extra time, I think there only would have been one winner,” Grealish told the club’s website.

“It wasn't meant to be, but we still have the Champions League and Premier League to play for. We need to pick ourselves up and get back on track. We started slow. The whole of the first half, Liverpool were on top whether that be pressing, possession and the scoreline as well.
“For us, it was not an ideal first half and I think that cost us in the end. We didn't have the first half we wanted to. We came in at half-time, the manager made a few changes and I think we were much better for it in the second half. In the end, it was just too little too late."

The defeat ends City’s hopes of a treble this season, although they can still complete a Premier League and Champions League double. And Grealish still believes they are in the best position to win on both fronts.
"You just go in there and look at the talent and experience we have in that dressing room and I don't think anyone else in the league has a dressing room like it," Grealish added. "Our performances, the competitions we're in and where we are in the league speaks for itself. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we will have the Premier League and Champions League."

Doesn't rile me, he's right. We were on the ropes waiting for the bell at the end of round 12.

Extra time, they still had 4/5 subs they could use. They'd have been favourites for sure.

But.. we won. Sorry Jack.

Nah, they applied a bit of pressure but we were never on the ropes in added on time.

If anything we had the better chances to score in that period.
