Roy Hodgson is a fucking cunt

Err, every game is a draw. The last win was for Der Republik. England haven't beaten Ireland since 1916

You're right Localny.
There was a brief 18 month stretch from 1994 to 1995 when Ireland was ranked above England in the FIFA world ranking system. But since then (over 18 years) Ireland has never been ranked higher than England. Sorry mate. England are shite - but Ireland are more shite. Truth hurts and all that.

.... and if it hadn't of been for a dodgy linesman decision disallowing Martin O'Neils goal early on against the French in a WORKD CUP QUARTER FINAL in '82 we would have gone on to dick the Germans in the semi - because Noron Iron consistently dicked the Germans in the 80's.

Big Billy Hamilton and his stunning moustache would have destroyed the Italians in the final.

I hope at least they've practised them. The suggestion you sometimes hear that teams needn't bother doing so "because you can't replicate what it's like in a real match situation" has always seemed daft to me.
Why bother with any training at all - it is clear you cannot recreate the Anfield atmosphere at Melwood, for example, so the players are better off sitting on their arses all week & saving it for Saturdays

It seems that Gerrard is being nursed through training sessions because his groin is playing up again. So after a gruelling three games long World Cup campaign there's a sadly strong likelihood he'll come back not crocked but needing the breaks he had in recent years pre-Rodgers. So there's even more reason to hope that we get him more support in midfield during this transfer window.

Can can (!) play that position, and if we bring in Lallana too then that will ease the burden even further. In fairness, there were times last season when he didn't need to play every game.

Please remain calm.

Lucas will be rested and raring to go at the start of next season.

Hodge on football:

"I am expecting our players to run around a lot."

That's a lie, he expects his players to stand still in the hope that we might score or concede a goal 😉

Seriously though, people always level this "defensive approach" thing at him, when I watch his teams I don't see that at all, it's certainly not a fault of his teams anyway, if anything they just don't DO anything, they don't move off the ball, they stay in position, neither too deep nor too advanced, it's just static, dreary, nothingness. It's a blackhole of football tactics.

Someone had to post this: I guess it's me, I'm dedicating this to the unusual amount of 6 county lads we have on this site.

Welbeck has picked up an injury. If Rooney also picks up a knock Hodgson might be forced into picking the correct line-up.

The last time this kind of thing happened at a World Cup (to Bobby Robson in 1990) England benefited greatly and could even have won it. Not saying that's going to happen this time, but you never know just how much of a payoff it might end up having.

Exactly what I was thinking; Bobby Robson ended up being lauded for his time as England manager but, had Bryan Robson not got injured and Wilkins suspended forcing Bobby Robson to play Beardsley, England would have failed to get out of the group and Robson would have been fired.

Hodgson could get lucky if Rooney gets injured and forces him to pick a front 6 of Lallana, Gerrard, Hendo, Sterling, Barkley and Sturridge. England could progress far in the tournament and he'll get the credit.

More likely scenario Rooney and Welbeck will be fit and he'll play Wilshere, Gerrard, Welbeck, Rooney, Sturridge and Lallana and England will get 1 point from the first 2 games before changing the line-up to my first suggestion; England then thrash Costa Rica 6-0 but in vain and go out at the first hurdle with hodsgon claiming England were unlucky.

It's not "When Yer Man Gets the Ball" but it's a start 🙂

Although "We Have a Dream" from Scotland's squad of '82 is still my favourite World Cup Song.

You know idiots in the media will still be talking about the potential of Wayne Rooney for about the next ten years.

Yep, one of them even suggested he looked very fit duing the pre games. He looked fat and uninterested.

So THAT is why Woy was so coy about his Liverpool-born wife:

It wasn’t easy for her, though, as a staunch Everton girl when Roy went to manage Liverpool in 2010. However, that job was one of Hodgson’s few failures, and he was ignominiously sacked during his first season.

Didn't Owen and beckham start on the bench in World Cup 98. Then hoddle dropped sherringham and Anderton for them and history is written

I expect Raheem to do the same.
