It's Aguero, but it's not happening.
Did he not sign a new 5 year deal before christmas. I know it doesnt mean he'll stay there but it surely rules him out as he doesnt have 2 years left.
No Aguero signed an extension to his contract that takes it to June 2014..............

There's noises around Aguero. Could never see it happening but imagine...

Where would Aguero play in the line up?
On the wing? Behind Carroll?
We need wingers.

Exactly.

I dont see how it's that narrow when both aguero and suarez possess the skills necessary to be effective out wide.

They do but that's not their natural position.
Since Suarez joined I have barely seen him cross the ball from the sideline, he seems to always try to cut inside.
Wasn't it quite evident against Arsenal that we lacked width?
I really hope Enrique joins and a quick winger. I hope the mystery man is Robben.

Would be good to buy actual wingers than trying to convert strikers, AGAIN.

Suarez is arguably at his most dangerous when he gets to the byline.

He plays down the channels quite a lot.

Messi and pedro at barca, Ronaldo and di maria at real, nani at utd. They all cut in with devasting effect. It would be great to have an excellent crosser from the flank for carrol though. If johnson could do for us what alves does for barca we'd be laughing. I think on his day he is capable.
Way to miss the point. Fabs listed a three pronged attack with aguero and suarez either side of carroll. Not as a flat 4-4-2. If they drifted out wide they would have the pace and skill to influence the play.

Forget Johnson, try Enrique on the left.
I wouldn't mind if they sold Johnson to free up some cash and make Kelly first choice RB and Flanno his back up. Don't get me wrong I still think Johnson is our best RB, but Kelly can only improve IMO.
Haven't seen him play, but he looks a gifted finisher, decent striker of the ball and his set pieces are promising.

He looks a bit lacking for pace and skill though.
Appears to be a left-footed forward (playing in a 4-3-3) rather than a winger. He actually looks comfortable with both feet and does appear to be a very good finisher and free kick specialist. Not the crafty winger, we always talk about, but looks pretty useful. A younger, faster Maxi that can finish?

So a younger Maxi (even though I don't think his style is similar to Maxi at all), this idea that Maxi has always been a poor finisher without pace is wrong. When he was younger he was one of the best finishers for a winger and had enough pace to be a consistent threat,

Let's sign Aguero before we start arguing about him.

Yes dad.

Agree style is different, but Maxi was never a winger either. And, I would gladly take a younger, pacey Maxi that could finish instead of miss sitters game after game. I am a Maxi fan, BTW. I think he deserves credit for always being in position to miss those sitters, but....

The closest guess i've come to is David Villa

He's a supporter isn't he ?
Based in Spain
Plays in a position we don't really need
He's a big name
Hasn't been mentioned under Dalglish
Could be bought for around 20m-25m ?
Would keep Reina happy, being a Spanish team mate
But the stumbling block is his contract has 3 years left, not two

but realistically it's not him 😀

He's 29 and hasn't been brilliant for Barcelona so maybe they would sell and get someone new in ?
