Selliott

This is such bullshit. The rumour was Villa signed him on loan with an obligation to buy when he'd made 10 appearances.
The lad gave up his life-long dream of making it at Liverpool so that he'd get to play more minutes at Villa. It was a grown-up, professional decision.
Now they're shafting him because, I imagine, they don't have the money / FFP capacity to buy him. They've strung him along and now they're hanging him out to dry by implying he's not good enough or has an attitude problem. Which is total bollocks.
Fuck Villa. Fuck Emery.
Twats.
The lad deserves so much better than this.

I don't agree with him not getting a start/minutes midweek but he has no business being in their starting XI - we're talking about the same Harvey who managed 300 minutes last season & their last 2 league games will make it extra tough for him.

Villa are a big side, with quick and skilfull players that can go both directions. Where does Harvey fit in? Nice lad and has a very good left foot on him but that's about all he has going for him.

We should have insisted on a straight sale, not just to protect our own position but also to avoid this situation for the player.
It may well be that when they get into the New Year and are past the UEFA calendar year financial cut-off that he'll get more minutes but this is such an awful situation.
I've no issue with McGinn and Rogers, but Sancho, Buendia, Guessand and Ross fucking Barkley were picked ahead of him today. Fuck's sake.

On a similar theme, in 2013-14, Brendan's near-miss season, Sakho had cemented himself as the regular centre half partner for Skrtel in the second half of the season, before he was dropped to the bench for the final game against Newcastle with Agger taking his place.
Sakho did not make it off the bench. Agger scored the equaliser, we won the game but City financially doped their way to another title.
Sakho finished the season having started 19 games for Liverpool.
If he'd started 20, we'd have had to make an add-on payment to PSG.
And that is absolutely why he didn't start that final game.

God bless that contract clause.

He shouldn't have started the Chelsea game either, the big oaf. Agger should have played.

I thought he played that game because was his final game for the club.
As I recall, we didn't know Agger was leaving then (he didn't leave until the end of the summer window). But it did turn out to be his last game. Too big a personality for Brendan to deal with.
We were trying to flog him to Barca but he knew he was done at the top level and was only prepared to go to Brondby, and we got stuff all for him (think there was a small fee which we ended up paying back to him to cover the drop in wages).

Yeah I think we let him go for a small fee as he still had a year left on his contract.

Sure, but I didn't think villa was a great choice. Isn't this on his agent?
