Runner's up spot two years on the trot? Looking at our last 11 fixtures and thinking about how well we're playing, why the hell not?

Burnley (H)
Swansea (A)
Scum (H)
Arsenal (A)
Newcastle (H)
Hull (a)
West Brom (A)
QPR (H)
Chelsea (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Stoke (A)

Dropped too many silly points against the likes of Leicester at home to get 2nd,gap is too wide.

Utd have a very unkind fixture list from now, so we could see them plummet (here's fucking hoping), which will mean it's more likely.

Arsenal are the ones to really worry about imo.

Hopefully Arsenal will recover from their CL shock and qualify for the quarter finals, get two more games, and then get utterly humiliated in them while dropping points to Burnley, Sunderland and Chelsea (the CL games will be bookended by these games).

Oh, and the Arsenal - Man Utd FA Cup game goes to a replay. And then the floodlights fail during the replay and they have to replay the replay and that one goes to extra time and penalties.

That should fix their uneven schedules a bit.

If we get 3rd and win the FA Cup I'll be over the moon and on Red Cafe pouring scorn on their team and LvG who I doubt will finish above 6th.

Possible, but I doubt it, City just seem to be able to click through the gears and get there. I'm also slightly worried about Gerrard coming back from his injury and upsetting the team.

Don't care if he is the captain, I would be livid if a 34 year old just walks back into the team after injury. Shouldn't really be starting another league game bar last of season.

Gaffer doesn't have the balls to do that. He will walk straight back in.

Yes, he does. And Gerrard being out and our playing great over the past 11 games means it is so much easier for him to bench him. He will be great coming off the bench just behind the attack though.

Everyone is dropping points so it is possible, it's only a two game turn around pretty much that could see us get in there. In this sort of form, anything is possible.

It'd be awful, but the way Gerrard is getting treated this season by the media (were less a football club, more the Gerrard farewell tour) and our own PR, it reeeeeally wouldn't surprise me if he made an error costing us a game and CL qualification.

Also - if Gerrard plays alongside Henderson - it works better.

It's when Gerrard & Lucas are paired together that the lack of mobility hurts us.

Cross fingers BR doesnt get manager of the month award.

Don't think it's remotely possible. I'd happily settle for scrapping 4th right now but would love 3rd so we don't have to sweat
