So who do we want/expect/hope?

yeh cause that pardew has had a stinker at newvastle after being sacked by Southampton for being pants, the guy that replaced him got southampton promoted.

yeh and we would not want that bloke who got sacked at West Brom who just got Chelsea to CL final and won the FA CUP.

your talking pants fella, past success or failure is all dependant on your previous club not your talent. What was the club Pep managed before Barca ?????

thank you

And I could offer you examples that point to the contrary. Matteo is on a honeymoon period of low expectations, too soon to judge. Pep was a winner, who was going somewhere, but yes Pardew was a surprise. Just saying, my experience in the world indicates you want someone with a winning mentality, not a guy who managed 34 wins in 127 games (Martinez).

And yes Ross, not worth getting a fuss over yet, but we've been here before with loew expectations. It's like Hodgson all over again, hoping some mid tabler will strike gold.

And finally can we debate this without becoming all wankery. I come in here, to talk LFC, to get away from the pressures of work, and am not interested in constant abuse and silly smart remarks.

So, confirmed:

Martinez
Rodgers

Potential:
Deschamps, De Boer, Klopp, AVB

De Boer sounds like a great appointment of whats available and possible.

Why do people bother moaning about Martinez already anyway? He is one of the rising stars in management in the Premiership. His stint at Swansea was extremely impressing. But looking at his stats with Wigan, a club tipped for relegation every season, is not the whole picture. Of coutse we'll be talking to him when he's the sort of manager they want.

Would his tactical approach and style of play work better with more talented players? Has he got potential to take our club forward?

I'm not desperatly against it, but he's the 4th/5th best candidate for the job and shouldnt get it if we can get De Boer etc.

Journo called Chris Davis is saying (Talksport) Martinez is the best we can realistically expect.

He supports Norwich.

henry - 'okay martinez, you have have 5 minutes to impress us, GO!'
martinez - 'well, I didn't get wigan relagated'
henry - 'go on...'
martinez - ...
henry - ...
martinez - ...
henry - 'okay...who's next on the list?'

They only ever have one "big player".

How many big players do WBA have?

We going to go round in circles here, only concern with RM is that wigan only ever turn up for 6-8 weeks a year.

He suffered some heavy losses earlier this season, dont think we would afford him the same patience as Whelan.

I'm not arguing with that. He's a risk alright.

i just don't think you can judge a manager by what he has done with a shit team, it is about potential.

Loads of managers have been successful with zero management experience like the last 3 Barca guys and their new one is the same again. Loads of big name players have struggled to be good managers and loads of managers with great CVs have not done well at a new club. There are no clear rules on this.

We want a hungry, talented ambitious guy not just a big name. Look back at all our previous managers, hardly world beating managers with other clubs before they came to us were they.

Stop this fantasy footy obsessed big name pants
