don't know these guys you mentioned in detail (apart from biesla), but what have they WON? what do they bring to the table? What have they done which is going to get gerrard, suarez looking up and believing.
Luciano Spalletti won the Serie A Coach of the Year award twice while he was with Roma. Managed to get them challenging for title and honors despite their financial situation back then. Besides challenging for Serie A title (vs. the then "invincible" Inter Milan) also won Coppa Italia twice as well as progressing to Q-Finals of CL. Have since won the Russian title with Zenit St. Petersburg.
Francesco Guidolin have got Udinese challenging for CL qualification for the past 2 seasons, despite their modest budget, esp. when compared to the other sides in Serie A. They finished 4th in the last CL qualification spot, but were unlucky to meet Arsenal in the qualifying round and failed to make it to the group stages, having lost the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Gökhan Inler, and Cristian Zapata in the transfer window.
Odds were stacked against them, with the qualifying spots down to 3 instead of 4 this season, their small squad size (having to cope with Europa League too), injuries (esp. losing Isla for last 1/3 of the season) and not spending the money from the sales. However, he managed to guided them to 3rd place finish, in a tight fight with Lazio and Napoli (64 vs 63 and 61 points - and 6 ahead of Inter).
Coincidentally, both men got their big break via Udinese, are known for their tactical knowledge and attacking football in the Italian game while exceeding expectations in getting Udinese European football qualification .
These 2 men are probably too old for FSG though.
