You know, for all his faults, parry at least gave me more confidence in choosing managers than this lot.
I don't think he made the wrong choice out of the last three considering where we were, and his choices were not the most popular at the time, with the possible exception of rafa, who was something of a coup at the time.
If he were advising FSG I'd be a bit happier.

Ha ha - That's true for the most part although I have to say I have found it surprisingly useful for learning about news fast.

AVB - fell out with alot of players at Chelsea, his age means he's working with players not much younger than himself which in itself can be a hindrance when working against egos and trying act with authority. I wouldn't be dead against seeing what he can do, but I think too many people put two and two together with him and got Mourinho.
Rafa - Would stabalise us and have us playing well in Europe again. There are major concerns over his transfer consistency, his stubbornness and his ability to work within the type of set up we're trying to implement, where he wouldn't have total say over EVERYTHING.
Crappello - I know his record, I just don't get him though, he plays boring, methodical football and we've already managed to get the better of him a few times, which makes me wonder if he gets what makes teams tick in the Premiership. He was woefully inadequate for England, letting egos, reputations and status count for more than form and suitability. NO.
Redknapp - Knows how to identify players, particularly attacking ones, would no doubt cure our ills on that score, giving us our much needed wide men and strength in depth up front. Tactically naive and worryingly a bit of an El Tel with the old brown paper bags.

IMO these are the 2 obvious high calibre candidates with European pedigree. Similar work ethic with a penchant for detail.
Rafa is the more impressive with more experience in working within budget constraints. AVB is part of the new breed with an impressive CV. Both have a chip on their shoulders with something to prove but Rafa knows the club, players and the youth set up. His inside knowledge gives him the edge but FSG may choose to overlook him.

It's weird to consider, but i'd actually rather be run like Everton than us. Their business model of 'sign a player occasionally' and play loads of kids works pretty well for what they want to achieve.
Well if we'd have done that, we could have been very successful... Moores was such a fucking tit. Instead of taking the silver when he did he should simply have sacked Parry and got a decent team around him, increased revenues the same way the yanks have. The difference being there would never have been a debt issue and it would be worth fuckloads more if he decided to sell at a later date.

I don't think Everton should be used as the benchmark for our club at all.
They never achieve anything of note. Dull and average-looking mostly. And if they actually start to look decent, they sell Rooney.

I'm ready to move on RedMullet but some of the names been bandied about don't inspire any confidence. De Boer, Deschamps are currently tied to their respective clubs. AVB could be an inspired choice but let's wait and see what happens.
I was thinking more of still being owned by someone who loved the club than anything; can't think of a better example.
