more on AVB from Evans

And more:
“@TonyEvansTimes: Honest. He's a grade A prick. And that's from the decent people doing low-end jobs, too”

Hahaha what a Knob. We could probably do with a grade "A" prick, in fact that will probably be on the job description.

As like All the top managers I know of are really nice guys. As like all the top players are nice guys................. oh wait.
I am sure fucking Evans is loved and adored by everyrone
Which is what worries me about Martinez, he might just be too nice.

that's what I thought, who cares if he's an knob as long as he gets good results. look a fergie, a real charmer that guy.

He'd be a much bigger risk than Martinez. No one knows if AVBs bullshit is worth it. It's all theory at this point.

Remember last April when people were saying he had a pre-contract with us? Well I do and my Portugeezer mate who supports Porto sent me this:

He is being hyped up as the new Mourinho. The thing is though, it would have been impossible for any manager to NOT win the league with Porto this season. I can assure you even a monkey would have won the league this season with Porto.

His success has come from inheriting a top quality Porto side, that just needed a bit of tinkering to make it work.

I dont think he's the new Mourinho. I mean, last season it was Domingos Pacienca (Braga's manager) being talked up as some super-manager, and he's had a faily average league campaign this season.

He'd be sacked within the year - at most - at Liverpool IMO.

Let's see how he does in the CL next year.. He's probably the closest we've come to getting a "new Mourinho" though, but right now he is vastly overrated...

You are right of course Mr C, as far as I can see unless we got Pep or Jose , which we ain't, everything else is a gamble.
AVB was up against it when he tried sorting out the Chelsea Mafia, it has strong parallels with Souness when he tried sorting out the old guard at Liverpool.
I would be up for giving Martinez a crack at it, but as I say he seems very nice, which is what I said about Hodgson.

regards

I wouldn't be that opposed to Martinez either, but the problem with him is that because he has come from Wigan and is not considered a 'big name' many won't give him a chance, and I am not sure he is THAT good to make that worthwhile.

I guess its all a case if people want to go down the "tried and tested but found a little lacking" route i.e. Rafa or down the "promising bright young thing" route a la Vilas Boas/Martinez/Lambert route. Many have been clamouring for the latter but, when it seems that may happen, the nerves start setting in with the realism that it's ultimately a gamble. So was Shankly many would add. I really don't know what's best myself at times so it must be difficult for the owners but, whoever they choose, it's near enough always a gamble. It takes many elements to make a successful team, not just the manager, but we're kidding ourselves if we believe a manager isn't key to that. It's a headfuck and a half, that's for sure.

The exam question is "What do you want from your next manager?".

If you decide that you want to get back in the CL but ultimately not win the PL then go down the "tried and tested but found a little lacking" route. If you want to win the PL on a consistant basis then take the gamble and go for the "promising bright young thing" route but be prepared to be disappointed because it's the bigger risk.

Aye there's going to be doubts whoever's appointed, that's normal.

I do think most Liverpools fans would be happy(not overly) with the appointment of Villa Boas though.

Judging simply by my family & friends reaction it's more or less 50/50, but those who are happy aren't over the moon & would have preferred Rafa to come back.

Have we still not signed up any manager yet ? - I keep looking on this site for some news and still none of you guys can make this happen. Hurry the f*ck up, can't be that difficult can it ? - we are not getting Jose so it really does not matter which one we end up with from the list we have does it ? - none of those guarantee us anything.

Tell you what I’m getting tired of, and it’s not being continually linked with second-tier Managers, it’s Spier-Neil dominating every fucking thread.

Neil, I’ll be kind here. Do you think you could slow it up on the posting mate? You account for about 75% of posts in every bastarding thread. AND MOST OF THEM ARE YOU HAVING TO EXPLAIN YOUR FUCKING SELF. The other 25% are made up of people lolling at you.

Christ on a fucking crutch. Catching up on threads is painstaking. This cunting thing is 65 pages old and nearly all of it is you talking pure shite.

well at least the Spider is generating a web of conversation regarding our current situation. I am dying for some news on our progress on hiring the next guy we will end up firing after next season is over. Ryan - whats it looking like now ? - who is the front-runner, and whats all this crap about that Danish guy wanting to manage us ? ( yes I know he was very good footballer in his day), I just want someone who will win us the league next seson.

Other than using capital letters, the spelling and grammar is very Neil like.

If Paul Tomkins typed with all of Ryan's anger towards Neil in the above post alone, he'd be dead by now.

I realise that was a bit angwy, and you'all pull me up for it and blah blah blah. But here's the rub; YOU ALL AGREE WITH ME.
