Sunlit Uplands

He’s just saying anything to win now, desperate robot.
He should play the long game and let Truss win as it’s bound to happen anyway, he was always like to finish last any 2 horse race.
Truss who is so bad that Kay Burley managed to get one over her.

Good luck!

Don’t think it matters, he was always bound to loose. No way would he get Tory support even if he was up against Corbyn. He’s just not particularly a strong candidate. A customer service bot has more empathy than Rishi.

Truss is going to be a disaster though, Tories never learn from picking fancy talkers and she’s about as low bar as we can get.

It’s been a while since Tory PM completed a term and Liz will either…

They’ll lose the next election under Truss with either a very small Labour Government or a hung parliament, which will open up a return for Boris because winning elections is what he does and Starmer will be forced back to the polls within 2 years.

I wouldn't be so sure that Truss or Sunak will lose the next election. It's two years off, and they said the same about John Major when he took over from Thatcher. He won, and Kinnock was no worse than Starmer.

Boris won't be back. He'll start making huge amounts of money (he's skint now) and will start to get used to it. I doubt he'll even be an MP for that much longer.

Nah.. Tories are done for a while. They've truly messed up the last 10 years.

Record inflation and cost of living. Those floating voters will go to the left.

Of gem suggesting the cap will go up to 4,700 by April next year.

Sorry.. but that's probably the straw which will break the camels back for many.

Jesus christ.

I was certain that was some sort of satirical parody, then I saw the video of those actual words coming out her mouth.

Heaven’s above - is this what “taking back control” now means - “making” the French “protect our borders”.

The UK is going to face increased unemployment as comedians and satirists everywhere get put out of a job because they can’t come up with anything as ridiculous as the things coming out of the actual politicians mouths.

Already this weekend I’ve heard “Hold the French accountable for UK border protection, “reduce benefits to encourage more unemployed people to work” and “the way out of the recession is to export more”.

Who does this bullshit that Truss and Sunak are peddling meant to be appealing to? The small number of Tory Party members who will decide who's the leader? Surely by now, the general electorate in England sees through this and they'll be destroyed anyway.

Point is, they've gotta get the small number of the Tory party on board first.
Then if they win they can peddle more bullshit and lies to get the rest of the country on side

Unforunately no, majority still lap it up including most disappointingly a lot previous northern strongholds whom labour it seems have lost for a generation. Anyone for levelling up still???
Boris and Tories could still do what they like last month based on typical responses from Yorkshire and Kent seemingly being but he got Brexit done. Whatever that means…

I think Boris misunderstood “Levelling Up” as “Revelling It Up” when he was “getting all the big calls right”.

We won’t give hand outs to help cost of living. We will give tax cuts!

What about those who already don’t pay tax and need the most help?

Let them starve, freeze to death or become homeless!

The UK is planning for several days over the winter when cold weather may combine with gas shortages, leading to organized blackouts for industry and even households.

Under the government’s latest “reasonable worst-case scenario,” Britain could face an electricity capacity shortfall totaling about a sixth of peak demand, even after emergency coal plants have been fired up, according to people familiar with the government’s planning. Under that outlook, below-average temperatures and reduced electricity imports from Norway and France could expose four days in January when the UK may need to trigger emergency measures to conserve gas, they said.

The scenario is “not something we expect to happen,” the government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said in a statement. “Households, businesses and industry can be confident they will get the electricity and gas they need.”

The good news for the Government is that little grannies across the nation will be freezing away in their houses wearing every item of clothing they own rather than putting on the heating, and preventing an energy crisis. No fucker will be able to afford heating.

In fairness, I've always enjoyed being the prick in the house who says, 'stick on a jumper if you're cold' as I turn the heating back down, but this year I can go fucking totalitarian on that shit. Looking forward to a cold one!

Id like to believe that, truly I would. Last I saw starmer was polling worse than truss. The man's a political vacuum.

No, we’re collectively political idiots fully deserving of the government we get.

True enough. I do think that a lot of the apathy comes from a severe lack of fucking effort by Labour. It's like Starmer is giving them enough noose to hang themselves, when in actuality the public needs Starmer( or someone less opposed to personality) "LOOK HOW THEY'RE KILLING THEMSELVES! AREN'T THEY SHIT"

Nah, they've really fucked it this time. As terrible as Starmer is, it's gonna be like Mad Max by the next election.

This country would vote Jimmy Saville in to office if he had the media behind him. I just can't see it

You could be right I suppose. I think that half the country freezing to death and having zero money to go for a bev might focus the mind though.

All it takes is for Truss or Sunak to do the bare minimum, and i think they'll coast through an election, as Starmer has given no indications over what he actually stands for, other than breaking every pledge that got him the leadership gig in the first place

Yeah can't really argue with that. And the worst possible outcome pretty much always succeeds now, so yeah
