Leoni could have raptured his ACL which means he could be out for the season. Gomez played well. Its only two months before the window opens again. Should the club make another bid for Guehi

Let's hope it's not so serious. I thought he went down with concussion or a neck injury, TBH. If he is out for nine months then we just need to meet the demands of Palace and being Guehi on board ASAP.

We were already light and it's why we needed a fifth CB or for Gomez to be properly replaced in the summer.

I've gone on and on ad nauseum about a club in our position needing 5 CBs as with 4 a couple of injuries and you now have one partnership for every single game (e.g the 6 in 17 days we are in now). Even more pertinent when two of those four are Gomez and Konate.

We absolutely should have got Guehi before the season started but it was just not possible with Palace's stance. Now we have to go back in January and likely pay what we offered end of the last window. I'm fine with that, the money isn't important at all, as being without another CB could wreck our season.

Arsenal have SIX with two (White and Califiori) currently used as FBs.

We should've just signed Guehi earlier and paid the extra £5-10m Palace wanted. He would've still been a bargain so I never understood the imperative to squeeze them for every last penny. I'm a little bit worried Palace will refuse to do business in January given there's no guarantee they find their replacement, but fingers crossed it works out. But even then Palace know we're desperate so we'll probably end up paying through the nose.

I wouldn't be surprised if he spurns us, because we effectively weren't willing to go the extra mile.

Yeah, devastating to have a solid debut one moment, and then the world collapses the next.

The silver lining is that it happened early enough in the season, so if he heals in 9 months (healing time for ACLs these days?) he'll be ready in time to join the pre-season and be able to pick up his career again when the new season starts or thereabouts.

It's time for the Rhysurrection

Yeah, we have 7 games in 21 days coming up? Going to be interesting.

Endo, Gravy, Gomez can also fill in there if badly needed? Hopefully not.

Might be time to start giving Rhy some time

Ok I think we all need to CHILL THE FUCK OUT

In fairness, his loan spell with with Morecambe last season, who got relegated into non league. Might be a bit of a leap into the PL, and not a good indicator he couldn't secure a better club

If shit really hits the fan then Tomiyasu had a mutual termination of contract from Arsenal, so he remains a free agent. No idea of his status, though. Ended cause he was a crock.

I think we'll see a mixture of Robbo and Endo between now and Jan. Thankfully, Endo's touch at CB is less of an issue than at DM.

Gomez can play well but he’s gonna take some game time to get there. Problem is, we can’t give him game time as the Ibou VVD partnership is crucial. So if Ibou gets injured, he we need to pray Gomez can step up and fast, aaaaaand stay fit

I’m gutted about this. Absolutely gutted for Leoni, but also, injuries to the CBs are the only thing than can derail us, which I’ve been harping on about since halfway through the summer window. Need some luck with fitness in the defence now.

It feels like we jinxed ourselves tbh. Not that I actually believe that shit but still. Last time we went into a season light on defenders was 2020 and we all know what happened then.

Thought Gomez was pretty shit tbh. Leoni was probably my motm, he looked quick, strong and good on the ball. Murphys Law or the Italian curse?

It leaves a bad taste but he is young so should heal quickly and will have the best surgeon. I reckon some young players who haven't broken through yet get cattle doctors.

NOOOOO!!!!
Why would you want a crock who is likely to be injured within 5 games? We have Badge who is likely to be ready in a few weeks

Palace pulled out, because their manager threatened to quit in the last hour
