What came across was that Guehi is a lovely person and loyal to his club (he is the captain). However he had already signed a contract with us. He was very keen on the move and I doubt money is his motivation (if for example Chelsea were to come i for him in January - though not moving house and his children to a new school may vibe with him and more especially his wife).True, but very much from the outside looking in he didn't seem overly desperate to join us in the summer. And top players tend to be pretty confident, so I'd imagine he'd think he has years ahead of him to win the big trophies.
I hope I'm wrong, he jumps at the chance of joining us in January and Palace don't stand in his way, but these are just potential problems
He isn't the issue. Glassner is. I hope behind closed doors that we told him we'd be back in January and that the Palace CEO told Glassner to find a replacement for him because they are not willing to lose the £25-30m fee (because of our situation CP are in the driving seat on price here) and that whether Glassner likes it or not he's leaving come 1st Jan.
