If there is one area where we do not need to strengthen it must be in central defense.

So this of course is me suggesting us buying a central defender.

Before you go all crazy please let me explain. I don't think both of Skrtel and Agger will be here come next Season - with the latter looking the most likely to go seeing as Rodgers has spend loads on Sakho last Summer.

That leaves us with say Skrtel, Sakho, Toure (getting older) and Illori and perhaps Kelly. However I don't think Kelly will be a CB anytime soon if ever at all and Illori, despite the reviews on here is completely unknown for me. Could be beasty - could be Hobbsy.

Erik Sviatchenko is not your average footballer - more an intellectual artsy type - but he could turn into a quite brilliant one. He has got it all in his locker in my opinion.

Having turned 22-years-old a few month back he is not particular young and he is still playing in Denmark which perhaps doesn't bode too well you think.

For me however is in the same bracket talent-wise as former teammate Winston Reid (now West Ham) and FC Copenhagen's Bryan Oviedo (now Everton).

He is strong as an ox, he's got great balance, he is fast and he is a very capable footballer all-round. He is also very strong in the air despite only hitting around 1.85 cm. Fearless in the way he addresses the physical aspect of the game, not unlike Sakho really so that part of the Prem certainly won't be an issue for him.

A very clever lad on and off the pitch who would've played outside Denmark by now if it wasn't for a lengthy injury spell last Season and this will defo be his last in the Superliga, should he not get severely injured again.

I believe he'd be available at around £3M and considering what caliber this amount would normally fetch of players this could be an absolutely steel and definitely a buy of great value. As a 3rd/4th choice back-up with potential to improve rapidly when being trained and tested alongside the best.

Happy New Year all 🙂

Looks like a hipster. So no.

Edit - Just googled him and apart from the picture you have put up the other 2 in the first three had him with a bow tie and a shit muzzy.

Wisdom says this a useless signing. And thats got nothing to do with his ability.

Illori FTW BTW.

Haha yeah.. he's running an art blog with his father, who's a half famous Ukrainian artist.

Depp muzzy and Sakho thighs, what more do you want?

In my (central) defense, I forgot about Wisdom and that is a good reason to maybe not look for 3rd/4th options. My bad.

If I can find 3 images of someone looking like a dickhead I don't want him playing for Liverpool, I can find 3 images of this guy in different bow ties.

No

So let me get this straight.
He's supposed to be good enough to play for us, even though he hasn't even been capped by Denmark?

It would feel too surreal listening to the away fans abuse the absolute piss out of him, and not being able to defend him in any level.

I equally wouldn't be surprised if we bought a centre back, coz that's us all over. I do think Agger and maybe Skrtel will go in the Summer, as you say, Toure is getting older and either Illori will make the step up, or he'll go on loan as per standard.

No. In due time perhaps. That's what £3M gets you I reckon.

I like his potential and the way he plays. Strong, gritty, fearless and yet rather intelligent and classy too.

As said not unlike Sakho, though not his level yet of course.

Sorry man - I'm superficial and judge people strictly on appearances (and cool sounding names) not football ability. I'm shallow like that.
