All the papers are saying today how impressive Carroll was in the open England training yesterday, he looks lean, fit and very hungry for goals. Apparently he was gicing Lescott a terribel time, bullying him off the ball.

What an amazing last month he had for us, gone from king donkey to scoring two late winning goals in key games and producing a MOTM performance in the cup final in only half an hour.

If he does well in the Euro's we could have back a superstar in the making ready for a new season under a new boss. The Carroll and Suarez partneship may get us the 50 goals we need it to after all.

PS - I know I am being an optimistic git here

I really believe Andy is going to rise to this occasion, I'm really looking forward to seeing him play in the Euros.

33p a pint.

He may be on an obscene wage, but there's no way that won't catch a Geordie lad's attention!

FWIW I think Carroll will boss international defenders though, we've seen in the past they struggle against archetypal big English forwards even if they don't have much in their locker, & Andy has more than most.

im not too worried about him getting pissed all the time, its not like he didnt do it at newcastle

it was meant to say "months", he's taking a sabbatical to go on a wine tasting trip around france with kevin nolan

I know it says 'Tonic Wine' on the label but does Buckfast count as wine?

He'll be a certain starter come Englands opener. And I'm going to put a wager on him to be crowned topscorer of the tournament.

He played on and bullied Gary Neville in training.

True story.

He's the white Drogba don't you know?

And with the white Pele (Rooney) England are gonna win this tournament....

Hides and waits to see us get knocked out on pens by the Germans.

On the form his shown in the last month, he has regained his confidence and is dominating defenders again. I hope he has a huge tournament. It will give him great confidence for next season which could be a catalyst for a run at the top 4.

Seeing as he doesnt drink like he used to, I think there will be no problem at all.

Much more professional these days and looks like he wants to achieve something with his career. The haters can fuck off.

So let' say Carroll has a storming Euro, and someone's ready to offer us close to what we paid for him, would you bite?

Just asking like. It'd be interesting to get people's opinion on this.

Not a chance, we suffered when he was pants so why get rid of him when his form returns.

mad question fella

It's not a mad question at all, I think if we were offered £30m, everyone would say yes.

No.

I think its fair to say a fit and firing Andy Carroll is an asset to the club. He is young and his best years are ahead of him. The slump he went through made him think about his game and future with the club. He is more mature, seems to have cleaned up his lifestyle and wants to be here and fire us to glory. It would be foolish to sell him now.

Not a mad question. 3 months ago, anyone saying no would've been called mad.

Though I'm in two minds myself. He was utter wank for a good 6-8 months, and part of me worries about his fitness and motivation issues, as well as whether his style of play suits us. That said, he does have some excellent attributes, and is still very young, and I'd be intrigued to see what good coaching could get him to become. I also think that with good coaching, he can be moulded into a player who can fit within the setup we'd want to implement. But it'd still be crazy not to at least consider a 30 million bid for him.

I certainly wouldn't. TV rights & cl money is going up, with cl money doubled, just as homegrown player rules kick in.

As such if he's getting 15 goals a season & playing well within a summer it'll look like about the right price.

I could be wrong of course, but I really believe he'll be a belter of a player.

Yep...Andy Carroll and Henderson etc will make their transfer work as long as they stay clear of injuries, and show at least a bit of improvement every season...

The only real shitty signing that Kenny Dalglish did was Downing. At a time when we really needed that 20 million winger, he went and bought that plank...

Then we can recoup 35 mil by selling for 50 mil?

I wouldn't sell andy for less than 40m

Fuck it, we've already got the bastard and he's got tons of potential.

15 goals minimum next year.

I like your thinking. Although if his form continues he will easily get more than 15 I reckon.

I'm trying to be conservative. I'd be surprised if he got less.
