what if?

Notwithstanding our recent good fortune in the cups, I am still pretty depressed about our season, especially in light of how much we have spent.

Makes me wonder what would have happened had the following two events changed:

2007 CL final - Liverpool win. Rafa has two Champs league trophies. We are in the middle of a mini Euro dominant phase. Instead of Babel, Leto and voronin we buy some world class wingers with our extra money and prestige and win the PL for 2007-08? Rafa then resigns and joins Madrid as manager. We sign Deschamps...

Macheda doesn't come on and score against villa. Utd lose game and lose momentum, we go on to beat Arsenal amongst othes and win the EPL.

If only...

If Hillsborough didn't happen we'd have won the league that year probably...

If the ref against Inter in 1965 wasn't bribed... who knows!

What if we didn't regularly fuck up and make stupid mistakes?

The biggest what if isn't ours.

If Utd's crop of 'kids' had failed they'd not be the massive entity they are now, & until Chelsea & City came along I think the league would have been much more of a level playing field.

I always thought that the Jetsons and the Flintstones had to have taken place in different dimensions. I can't believe that technology would advance so much from the Flintstones age that they would completely forgo animals power and animals would lose the power to talk.

Basically I think they take place in parallel worlds where the only difference is that the asteroid didn't hit the earth in the Flintstones universe.

Actually, just looked it up on wiki and it may prove my theory wrong. They met each other using a time machine which implies they are in the same dimension

Surely that depends on your view of time travel?

Ive seen arguments saying when you go back/forward you actually travel sideways to another dimension rather than back /forward on your own timeline

Not that time travel exists like

I think that when you go back you create a branch in time so your original timeline still exists but you can't return to it, unless you have a machine that can travel to different dimensions. It's a bit like Sliders (if anyone has ever seen it) and you create an entirely new branch which shows the consequences of you coming back.
