Will you stay in English football?
Non-league?
Overseas? Is it still trendy to support Dortmund?

hmmmmm

Honestly could not give a shit who owns us given the value of this whole football industry. If people/states are willing to invest this much into football rather than end world hunger - then there is nothing to say on this matter. It's not our fault.

Honestly, I'll probably still support LFC, but I'll be even less interested. What's the difference really? We stopped being the Mom and Pop store ages ago.

I lost interest in footy when Newcastle were bought out. If we go the same way…

Do we have a metric of evil.

Like, and this is important,
Shall we go back 150 years? Or just the 50?
We can then assess based on

Democracy v authoratarian
Freedom of speech, lgbtq+ rights, the way they treat migrant workers, women & equality, have they raped and pillaged a country in the past or stolen resources from counties.
Religious freedoms?

How good their national dishes are is prob quite important... its actually an extensive list.

We've no moral high ground
We complained about Russian money & Chelsea,
City and their uae Arabs n Newcastle and their Saudi Arabs.

United being owned by rich yanks, same as Chelsea who later started talking about changing the league and klopp was like what an ass.

I'll still support us. Much as I like to think I have high ethics and ideals, I actually don't want to watch us fade into midtable oblivion to prove a point.

I'd actually be fine with FSG or similar funding us enough to sit at the top table but without being able to really compete every year, much as they have done. Better than fading away and maybe better than being a plaything for oil money.

Plus, my "local" options are the worst team in the Canadian league (says it all) or MLS teams hundreds of miles away.

I thought about this and yes, I appreciate that being bought by some authoritarian/evil regime as an exercise in sportwashing could helps soften unflattering perceptions of the new owners. But they're just going to buy another club anyway. And to the extent that we resist their advances to make a point/ inform the world just how much we disapprove of them, our "message" is going to resonate a lot less when we're irrelevant in a league dominated by rich mens' playthings.

No idea who the owners will be so not getting happy or sad. For every Sovereign Fund, there is a Stan Kronke.
There's all sorts of rumours floating about including Mukesh Ambani, Indian's second richest billionaire. Indian Billionaires have been known to go from billionaires to bankrupt very quickly, take Mukesh's brother as an example.

Yeah, i fancy us some Asian owners for a change. But regardless of who, the games' already in a decline. WC in Nov ? Seriously ? lol

I'll still support us as a lifelong fan, but it's like in the pre-covid days, i'd go to the cinemas for movies, but these days i cant be arsed anymore and am happy to watch it on netflix.

It's kinda like that for me now supporting us. The passion has dimmed a lot and it's mainly for entertainment's sake these days. More like a pastime.

Football is like most other things in life, you may object but you usually get on board eventually ... or go and live as a hermit. I'd like us to continue as we are so long as we are able to compete, and win, the PL and CL on occasion. However that may soon be unachievable anyway.

All that said supporting Liverpool is about the club and the city more than it is about the owners. You can't change/affect anything from the outside, you're then just another useless prick moaning about the world into his pint/coffee.

We'll probably just be bought by slightly richer Americans who'll give us slightly more cash to spend.

And I don't really get this insistence that we should always be the underdog club. We never really were in the past. We were always one of the richer clubs.

Mukesh Ambani has as much chance of going bankrupt as Bill Gates has. Reliance Industries is practically into everything in India - e-commerce, energy, mobile services, infrastructure, and petro chem. They are India's largest exporters or something like that.

Not sure how he would be as an owner, though. The Ambani's do like the limelight a little bit, always hanging around Bollywood stars, etc. We will be the number one football club in the Indian market. They will market the hell out of us in India.

I’d still watch. Ultimately I like the game and don’t pay too much mind to the circus around it.

The time to take a stand was years ago. This all seems a bit “not in my backyard”… it’s all okay as long as it’s not us? Nah.

I'd genuinely have to stop supporting us if Mukesh Ambani buys us purely for how cringe we'd become. Nita Ambani would have Shah Rukh Khan performing at HT at Anfield.

For some reason almost everyone from India I know is a Man Utd or Chelsea fan. They just seem to be huge there.

I just said that India had people who were billionaires one night and then self exiled to London and bankrupt the next night. Mukesh Ambani's brother was worth £44bn once and supposedly bankrupt.
Back on 2010 Mukesh was touted as being owner, and usual the press have decided to enter him in the mix again.

Consider yourselves lucky - if I pick my local team - then it’s fucking Melbourne City and those fuckers again.

If I had to pick a local non-league side it would likely be Whittlesea Zebras being closest… who count among their ex-players, none other than a certain Ryan O’Hare.

I'll still support us but won't ever be banging on about great said new owners are or defend them like how city and Newcastle fans have fawned over theirs.
Do I want owners like them? No but to compete long term we need owners to invest their own money into the squad..
Ideal solution would be for the FA/Premier league /uefa actually show some balls and enforce FFP and stop city just blatantly faking sponsorships like this 8x bet

Cliftonville.

The ground is about a 5 minute walk away. Underdog playing in a league dominant by a state sponsored club (Linfield) as well. Play in red too

We can squeeze in a match and a burger from burger club over Christmas. Also, my niece plays for them and has managed to make a few appearances in the U19 team, even though she only turned 16 in September.

Is that the team that all the far right, first generation Australian Greeks support?

Reading FC would be my local team,
will see what happens first ..things hardly ever turn out like we think ..

Who in their right mind names a football club 'Whittlesea Zebras'?

Italians that love Juventes but find themselves living in the council area of Whittlesea.

To be fair it’s not even close to the worst named sports team in Australia.

That goes to a team called “Sunshine Geordies”.

Imagine saying you play for “Sunshine Geordies”!!!!

@Judge Jules - you’d be interested in this - they’re actually Maltese I think - with the Geordie bit referring to the George Cross, I presume - Sunshine is the suburb.

Don’t get me started on Melbourne suburbs… there’s one called “Officer”…

Nah - South Melbourne is the Greek Club.

Melbourne Knights is the Croatian club.

They’re all local rather

Australian football is next level fucked.
