Yesterday was a fuck up for my plans. Someone decided to arrange a teleconference at 1pm. So no pub and pint for the first half. I did stream it to my phone whilst people chatted shit.
Anyway, today I have a “private appointment” at 1. Do back to my routine.
I’m not sure what to make of the early game. Will that game against Spain take its toll on Portugal? Will Morocco actually put a chance away? On paper Portugal should walk it. My bet is Ronaldo 3-1.

The usually infinitely more sensible 5 Live has become almost equally full of shite during the WC. The Robbie Savage morning show, with it's strained matey vibe seems to have been directly modelled on the most lamentable elements of Talkshite. The whole morning yesterday (even outwith the Savage stuff) was absolutely following that trajectory that had been admirably avoided this time around, where ludicrous England hyperbole is ultimately setting the team up for punishing disdain and infamy.

I think there's a chance (if Portugal didn't play themselves out against Spain) that Ronaldo could actually come close to getting the golden boot wrapped up today.
Of course, the earlier kick offs haven't been the best of games so its far from guaranteed, but there's a real chance cos Morocco were shite against a poor Iran side.

Unlike Messi, Ronaldo seems to be trying to cement his status as GOAT this tournament. Phenomenal against Spain, and if he can maintain that level, and his colleagues don't fuck him over, it's not impossible
Well the WC top scorer often only has 6 or 7 goals & none of the other big players have delivered except kane so a hat trick today could possibly do it alone. As he has free kick & penalty duties too it puts him in a strong position.
