Are you ready to pull the lever?

Should Slot get sacked?

  • Yes, immediately if possible.

  • No, but he has until the end of the year to turn it around.

  • No, winning the league bought him enough time to see out the season.

  • No way.

  • Other, elaborate...

The pile-on has started. Not been on RAWK ever except for info on away games travel. But carry on with your echo chamber.

This might actually be the first time I said 'no' to a 'beejay'!
Up to this point in the season the team is weaker than it was last season. The defence is no better with TAA, Tsimi out, Leoni injured and Guehi not signed. Am not sure if Kerkez and Frimpong again with his injury has made enough impact to better the past season.
Then there is midfield with Wirtz there but without Grav and a not fully fit Mac definitely I can't say currently the mid is better than last season.
Upfront, yes there is Eki doing well but not yet at Diaz level who was good at holding the ball, keeping defenders busy, in the ptocess easing up space for Gakpo and Salah. Up until Isak starts scoring freely, upfront the team is no better than last season
It seems there were too many outs and ins in one window which cannot all be the fault of the coaching team. Am taking this season as transitional, with time Slot will get it right. Let's sign Guehi in Jan and fight to play CL next season. Not sure if there are any truly good managers out there who are a good fit to coach Liverpool.

I voted "Other, elaborate..." but didn't elaborate, because I like acting the cunt.
With the honourable exception of Woy, I have never wanted nor wished for a Liverpool manager to be sacked.

You know there isn't a lever right? Or if there is one, it can only be pulled by the force of billions of dollars?

Final post. I am a scouser. Season ticket holder with my mates on the kop.

I have an alternate view from those who want to get rid of the manager.

Don't ridicule my opinion, it's just as valid as anyone else.

Respect to those who think differently, my language is no different to theirs.

I'm frustrated and angry at the results and performance these last few games but can see there's a transition we have to face and it's never going to be easy trying to move on from peak Salah, VVD, Jota, TAA, Robbo, Ali.

Arne won the league last year, that earns him huge respect and patience while we rebuild.

If you think that's a barrel load of shit, fine but it's my honest opinion and don't kill me for it

Everyone wants the manager to turn this around. My issue is just that we need to see some indication of that and soon. I think if we saw some green shoots, there'd be more hopefulness and more patience. Our form is dire. Our performances worse.

As it stands we've got one performing forward, who slot seems to largely prefer isak to.

Szobo is our best performing player in general, and he's been at right back a lot.

Otherwise every single player is underperforming. All worse than the sum of their parts. We've seen little defensive resolve. We've seen little control, no good pressing etc etc. Our performances are getting worse. Forfeiting a game won't have improved the mood. They have to show something.

Oh, and I'm not sure if "we all have valid opinions" is the same as "you're all a bunch of kneejerking bedwetting wankers."

Some valid points Fark, but you are still missing the point. Managers have to be given the time.

Slot has shown he is a winner. How fucking great was last year? The scenes at the Spurs game when we clinched the title will live with us for a lifetime.

Who fancied us to win the league when Klopp left and we didn't spend? No-one , yet we walked it.

If the club dumped Slot now the rest of the league would be celebrating how we have turned into the same as them.

As far as the business of this goes (which is who will be doing the lever pulling)... we have turned into the same as them, we are all American owned assets whose owners demand investment growth.

It we continue on our current trajectory every supporter of every other team will want slot to stay at the club as long as possible.

What have the owners got to do with it? We can be as stoical or kneejerky as we choose, regardless.

Well, that's my point. I'm saying his situation isn't tenable or not based on whether he has support or not, it's whether they think he can make cl or not.

Depends on if there's someone viable to takeover. I don't want to be a team lurching from one poor manager to the next. But Slot hasn't shown any agility in making meaningful changes or even acknowledged he needs to effect a change to get a result. We've had people on the forum make some decent suggestions that likely would have had merit.

Its been the same as last year, he's run his first team into the ground. And ascerbated that by selling off a lot of squad and potential players "so as to not disappoint" but those same youngsters, squad players got Klopp out of the shit many times quite handily. Any one taking over this squad has issues. Very weak in certain areas. Injuries. Players recovering from losing Diogo Jota - and my old forum is citing that as the reason we're losing every game. (Okay I just lost a dear friend at work. But shit I still got to turn up and do good work, can't mope around and do nothing for 6 months and expect to keep my job. But hey I'm not in sport). Loss of form. And we're not playing as a unit. Loss of TAA which has affected Salah's end product who was getting ball over the top, inch perfect to run onto, that's aint happening and Salah's a pale shadow. Slot's got found out last season midway through and every PL team has now emulated that low block approach. Only team we've beaten convincingly came out to win in the CL and didn't deploy that low block and came at us.

We need a crafty manager with guile and multiple tactical approaches. A young Rafa Benetez would do.

Last time this shit was going on was Brodgers and his shit about character. I told my wife we needed Klopp way before it happened. Hell I even wrote a letter to John Henry I was that worried about the clubs direction and told him to get Klopp in (June 2015)!! Managed to get it loaded below, so funny to look back on that. But it was a scary time and we'd had Hodgson, Brendan... Just getting over Hicks, Gillette.

When this crap goes down I start playing footy manager and see if I can manage LFC better than the incumbent manager and the desire started up again reading some of these posts. Its not a good sign. It was such good news to get Klopp and I'm hoping Henry et al are as horrified as we all are. Slot was brought in because he used the same tactics as Klopp, the team shape was already crafted and Slot could "slot" in (pun intended) without major changes being made. That was the remit and what the fuck happened in year 2? He's totally evicerated the side. What happened to our data boys and their astute purchases? We got Robbo for $8m from Hull of all places. Salah from Roma, a failed prospect with Chelsea that tore up the league. WTF is going on.

It was bugging me and I have a server, so dropped it on there for you to look at - I do this shit, write to senators, CEOs and John Henry depending on how pissed off I am in the certain situation. LFC is very dear to my heart and I hate seeing us looking so vulnerable especially after doing a Chelski and trying to buy the damn league with 2 outlandish purchases. The players might be good, but a quarter of a billion, just let that sink in! That's nigh on what Hicks/Gillette paid for LFC back in the day (350m). Not that I'm saying I had any effect on Klopp coming in, but it was just the best news I had for that whole year that we got him. (Wife had never heard of him) 🙂

Don't. Sometimes you have to take it on your chin. I'm sure you're a good egg.

But tell me one thing:

Do you like Slot?

Ok, tell me a second thing:

Do you think he's capable of turning it around?

So, while we're at it:

Do you think he's still got the players behind him?

For me it's a clear NO to all three questions. That's why I want him gone. I don't think he brings anything to the club anymore. For me he's done.

If you decide to be an arsehole, you have to be competent beyond all doubt, like a prime Mourinho or Ferguson. Otherwise you're just an arsehole.

Exfuckingactly

Ange now a frontrunner. While this will surely change some of yours desire to see Arne sacked immediately, this new development has me wanting it 🤪🤪

I mainly dislike Slot for the way he handles the squad players and for his lack of accountability.

In press conferences he often blames individuals or the players as a group, yet he rarely seems to take responsibility himself. Saying that PSG were great is all well and good, but it does nothing to address his own shortcomings.

Of course, its not easy following a charismatic manager like Klopp. A manager who instilled confidence in the squad players and made them perform beyond expectations.

There has been next to no rotation as well. I'm not talking about the League Cup, but about trusting the squad to contribute in more important matches so that regular starters could be rested.
Early on, he seemed to settle on about fifteen players and ran them into the ground. If you look at the minutes per player on Transfermarkt last season, the numbers speak for themselves.

It's no surprise that Endo and others now look match unfit when they go four or five games without playing a single minute.

Last season must have been a nightmare for players like Elliott and Quansah. Seemed as if they were micro-managed and weren't allowed to make any mistakes. If they did, they were frozen out instantly. He completely drained them of confidence.

And I don't even need to mention his handling of Chiesa.

The way he treated Quansah first game outed him as a cunt. Even now he seems to pick on the youngest members. Kerkez and Bradley constantly taken off. Keeps others stinking the place out on. Dropping Ekitike the moment he had a sniff to play Isak.
