I love this guy and want to dedicate a thread to him. I have a gut feeling that he will have an outstanding season and be in with a great shout for player of the year award. He seems to have it all, technique, aggression, pace, wonderful striker of the ball and great positioning.

What a shame we spunked our money on Keane and not him. I will look forward to watching arshavin play (except agaisnt us).

Anyone else think that he will be player of the season?

were you listening to talksport today, thats exactly what the whingey guy was saying can't remember his name...

arsehaven for player of the year but he thinks his team mates will let him down and arsenal will be poor

he was really really good at times last season but he has a bit too much too say for himself :-\

I suggested him instead of Keane when we were first rumoured to be signing Keane and the vast majority on here suggested I was mad for wanting a relative unknown (he only came to prominence last season at the age of 27) compared to someone who had been relatively succesful in the EPL for many years.

I have never been a Keane fan and having seen Arshavin play regularly for Zenit and Russia i thought it was obvious that he was a superior player and I was confident he would be suited to the EPL.

All that said, I don't think he would have joined us even if we had moved for him before Arsenal - he did seem to want to go to one of the Spanish giants or London.

I remember us being linked to him quite some time before last summer and it was then we watched his youtube clips thinking "what's a 26yold still doing in Russia?". I wonder if we were genuinely interested then - he'd have definitely come to us at that point.

Jakub Blaszczykowski is as relatively "unknown" as Arshavin was 18 months ago and I have been suggesting him as a signing all summer - he is a similar type of player to Arshavin and apparently available for about £10m.

We were strongly linked last season, then all has went quiet.

I'll be keeping an eye out for him then, must say that I have never heard of him until this post.

Apart from have 4 touches and put 4 past us last season, he hardly did anything.

Can't understand all the cock dribbling over him myself.

He picked up a bad knock and was out for a couple of months last season - he made his comeback against Norn Iron in that WC qualification game at Windsor Park. I am amazed that no big Italian/Spanish/English clubs have made a move.

Voted Dortmund player of the season last season and Polish player of the year.

jakub would certainly give us a genuine alternative to Dirk on the right. He'd be a good buy.

Arshavin confirms how many of the Jackson 5 are still alive....

Dont see why people would call him a cock? Think he comes across as a likeable fella, but then i would being an Arsenal fan. I love his cheeky celebrations like the ones at Anfield...suppose some people might not like that sort of thing

@Mors your comment is ridiculous. Surely having 4 touches and scoring 4 goals is something to get excited about?

He looks a good little player.

He did seem to whore himself about a bit though didn't he?

It seemed at one stage that it was his ultimate dream to play for about 85 clubs.

He's scarily good and I have to agree with the original post I think he'll up there in terms of player of the season.

Pity we didnt get him when Arsenal did as he is exactly the type of player that added to Gerrard and Torres would have put us as firm favorites for the title this year, who knows we may have been champions now had we picked him up last summer

Arshoving shows how many fingers he can shove in his ass...

His element of surprise has gone.

He is of small stature.

Defenders will man mark him.

His brief flame will be extinguished.

Yeah, thank fuck defenders can now see his size.

he can play till he's 100 and wont score four league goals in one game again. didn't viduka put 4 past us (CUNT!!!) how many times did he do that again even to rubbish teams. those four goals by arse shaving was more about us then about him.
