Totally is…
My favourite bit was that we'll win everything for the next 5 years.
Totally is…
Right… I’m on record as saying I don’t think we’ll sell loads of players and that selling loads of players would be detrimental to our chances of winning things because it would make consistency difficult.
However… and I might be going full @bluebell here… there’s probably an argument that what we’re signing, bar Wirtz, isn’t necessarily players that will automatically be starters when the season kicks off.
So… we sign Kerkez & Frimpong, but Robbo & Bradley might well start the season as first choice with the expectation the newbies force their way in sooner rather than later.
Wirtz will start… we’re just not entirely sure where…. but let’s say he starts in the 10 position, with Dom the one to loose out.
Therefore selling Diaz, even given Wirtz “could” play there, but probably won’t, is kind of ok because Gakpo becomes first choice.
That in turn means the only real hole in the team is the number 9 as, if seems likely we sell Darwin - but in theory we could do false 9 with Wirtz or double 10 with Wirtz & Dom… whichever cooks your goose.
Where I’m going with this is… Frimpong, Kerkez, Wirtz and let’s say Ekitike combined is about £265m give or take.
Let’s assume Kelleher’s sake covers Marma’s cost.
We can get £75m for both Darwin & Diaz plus another £40m for Jota. Add in £40m for Harvey (who is even more surplus after Wirtz), £10m for Tsimikas (surplus) and throw in Doak & Morton combined for £40m, Chiesa for £15m, Badger for £20m and Endo for £10m - that’s £325 - and not ridiculous prices either.
That’s us signing Frimpong, Kerkez, Wirtz & Ekitike, getting rid of Diaz, Darwin, Jota and a pile of players who haven’t played much.
That’s £60m profit and us needing a winger and midfielder - so we could probably sign Xavi Simon’s or Nico Williams (release clause £60m) and break even, leaving scope for a Wharton or Baleba without really leaving us with a ridiculous transfer deficit given we’ve upped revenue with CL monies this season.
Not only would we be doing it without affecting continuity or the first team, but we’d be stacking the first team squad with a whole host of players desperate to play and at the right age to “explode”.
I’d would be against selling Quansah or Gomez if we could bring in a CB for whatever we got for their sale - that’s potentially another £40m to put towards a top defender (would have done it for Huijsen).
Fuck it… I’m going full Bluebell… if you’d told me we could add Kerkez, Frompong, Wirtz, Ekitike, Simons/Williams, Beleba/Wharton and a £40m rated CBtgrough selling mostly benchwarmers & Luis Diaz - I’d not only have bitten your arm off, but I’d be through the rib cage and feasting on your internal organs!!!
That’s the sort of thing that… potentially has us as the dominant team in England, with all that brings (ir European glory), for the next 5 years,
I know my name has been dragged in to this. After seeing what we spent, i am not advocating the balancing of the books.Right… I’m on record as saying I don’t think we’ll sell loads of players and that selling loads of players would be detrimental to our chances of winning things because it would make consistency difficult.

They’ll be happy to be playing. How will either of them feel about leaving LFC and going to play for Erik Ten Hag?
Em, okay, is it beer o'clock in Australia?
Depends how many we can fetch in IMO. A small squad may well be Slot's preference but he'll also have seen the price we had to pay last season when the form of too many of the players he mainly relied on dropped like a stone.
I don't know but the Bundesliga might just be the environment Harvey needs to thrive.
They want to sign the "Premier League winning Italian Majestro, Chiesa, who won the Premier League just weeks ago with Liverpool"...
Cannavaro played over 100 games for Real Madrid. I would struggle to think of any others. Italians don’t travel well. Hence my red flags on them.

If my aunt had bollocks she’d be my uncle.Verratti and Tonali have done ok.
All the best Italians over the years have tend to stay put, unless you think the likes of Totti, De Rossi, Pirlo, Zambrotta, Nesta, Maldini, Chiellini, Bonucci, Del Piero, Buffon etc would've struggled abroad?
Could've just said no, in which case it just becomes a flawed argument which you relay over and over.If my aunt had bollocks she’d be my uncle.
History dictates they would not have done so in a hypothetical situation.
How many Italians have won the league here?
Elite level players right there.5. Cudicini, Taibi, Macheda, Balotelli and Chiesa.
