As much as this forum has turned on Slot, it's surely right to recognise that Jones camp leaking stories to pressure and undermine the club is fucking shitty behaviour, too.
I know it's the game and all but I do expect better from lads that same through the academy and are from this city. We don't need more headlines right now. Take a look at how Chiesa/Endo, hell even Elliott have acted, all played way less football, first two have way less connection to the club and the city and they've kept their head down and worked hard. Now Jones is a straight talking, passionate bloke and I don't doubt he loves the club, but I'm never a fan of players creating needless drama that can be sorted out in-house. The smart play was the shut up, delay contract negotiations over 'concerns', bide his time and see where the land lay towards the end of the summer. I'm all for him speaking up, calling out crap performances both publicly and on the dressing room, but all this was senseless.
