Watching Scholes as pundit just reinforces for me what a heap of nonsense it is to see him compared to Gerrard (and Lampard to some extent) as a player. He's just utterly bland, befitting an important cog in the machine who could play nice cross-field passes, but not a leader and driving force like the other two. I don't think I've ever heard him say something that goes even mildly against the grain of the most broad and predictable sentiment of United's fan base's at any given time, let alone something genuinely insightful.

To be fair to Scholes, I rarely heard football pundits say anything insightful other than repeating cliches. Compared to NBA, NFL, cricket - the analysis is just pathetic in football. Listen to former players commentating or doing half-time analysis in cricket and NFL, you learn so many insightful things about the game at the highest level - technique, strategy, etc. - which you never thought of.

Really hope Inter win the whole thing. Don't mind seeing a bunch of Man U rejects beat the team they couldn't.

Typical Conte win – set up to play without the ball and easily nullify the opposition threats without dropping too deep. Pounce on the opposition mistakes mercilessly. Poor Shakhtar, they fell into the same trap again and again.

Having been following the recent games, just curious, how good is Sevilla's Diego Carlos (who seems to be highly rated and been linked with bigger clubs)?

I thought he was fucking shite against united. The whole backline was suspect.

Yeah, he looks good. Read that he was on our shortlist before we bought Kostas. Guessing Real Madrid wants a massive fee for him.

Yeah he was one of four we were looking at. They want 18m for him.

Still, could be Chelsea and go after Chilwell for 80m.

This is like an FA cup match involving a lower division side. RBL look like they have no quality.

2-0

Must be a great consolation to Man Utd fans all the same, to see Young, Sanchez, Lukaku and Di Maria doing so well and reaching European finals.

I think Nagelsmann deserved to lose just for wearing that jacket alone. Anyway, PSG let Leipzig have the ball without ever seriously threatening and were clinical in punishing their mistakes. In the 2nd half Leipzig came out with a lot more urgency and gave it as good as they got, but PSG's defense with Thiago Silva and Kimpembe + Marquinhos at DM was faultless. Di Maria produced probably one of the best CL performances of his career and the threat of Neymar and Mbappe was always there, even if they both somehow failed to score. PSG's midfield today was kind of meh and I thought the RB Kehrer was awful but having top quality in both boxes is the most important thing in a play-off game and PSG have this.

Assuming Bayern get through Lyon tomorrow, it's going to be a fascinating final. Playing that insane high line against the PSG forwards can be suicidal and if Boateng starts at CB, I bet he's going to be turned inside out and fall on his face quite a lot. PSG is an anti-Barcelona in a way – their strengths match up pretty well (for them) with Bayern's weaknesses in central defense and I don't think Hansi Flick will sleep very well leading up to the final. Will be interesting to see whether Sule gets the nod tomorrow.

If they play a high line I doubt that Sule will play cause he's slow as fuck.

I wouldn't play a very high line against PSG even with Virgil and Gomez as CBs. I actually think they don't need to – PSG will cede the midfield to them anyway. The game against Lyon, who also have a very quick and dangerous strike pair, will be a good test of whether Bayern can win in a different way.
