I wouldn't play a very high line against PSG even with Virgil and Gomez as CBs. I actually think they don't need to – PSG will cede the midfield to them anyway. The game against Lyon, who also have a very quick and dangerous strike pair, will be a good test of whether Bayern can win in a different way.
Let's just save this discussion for now and see if they make it past Lyon.

Leipzig didnt have enough quality nor did they have the experience to match PSG. I have to say it was a much more matured PSG side yesterday then previous years, and they seemed to have learned a bit from nearly going out in earlier rounds.
The inclusion of Paredes gave them an outlet in midfield that could pass forward, and Di Maria and Mbappe added quality to the forward line.
Mbappe is just a fantastic player with a physique that is quite superior to the defenders he's up against.
The brilliant Upamecano struggled at times with both the press and runs, still only 21 years of age though.

PSG have a great chance to win the CL now, and I hope its against Bayern as that would make it a very interesting and entertaining final.

I think PSG were just straight up better than RBL who posed very little threat. Silva et al had a really easy night.

Their defence (and lack of midfield) generally struggles against top attacks in the CL so I just can't see them holding Bayern out.

PSG have two genuine superstars in Mbappe and Neymar but they will need to be clinical, which in the last few games they really haven't been (well, Neymar really).

Thats true but I wouldnt chalk that up to PSG being a mature force just yet. They were up against a team that was very much out of their depth and unable to get to grips with the game.

Thats true, Leipzig were certainly out of their depth. The acid test for PSG will be the final obviously, and how they approach that.

Di Maria has the ability to be a super star in one off game too.

THOSE in control of the Qatari sovereign wealth fund popped the cork on celebratory bottles of human rights abuses to mark their club PSG’s progress into their first ever Champion’s League final after an imperious 3-0 victory over an energy drink.

Qatar, a country just as famous for the high number of deaths among immigrant labourers forced to build World Cup 2022 stadiums as they are for funding the scintillating football of Neymar Jr, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe, finally booked their place in the most high profile club football match on the planet and boy do these guys know how to celebrate.

“We won’t go too crazy tonight, just a few LGBT imprisonings. We’ll save the serious celebrations for after the final because we know we haven’t won anything yet, other than the undying support of hundreds of thousands of fans through sports washing,” confirmed Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

‘Sports washing’ is often used by regimes to weaponise the tribal loyalties inherent in sport, softening the image of harsh regimes which commit reprehensible human rights abuses by buying high profile sports team, ultimately leading to fans of clubs mindlessly defending horrible crimes just because club kick football good.

“That’s not true, and anyway it’s more nuanced than that, like just don’t be gay over there. You’ve only yourself to blame, and yeah, they’ll put you in jail if you become pregnant to an ‘illegitimate’ child but you’re saying that like it’s a bad thing,” confirmed one PSG fan.

“Hey, lay off, can’t we just enjoy reaching the final like other fans of clubs owned by regimes who give life sentences in prison to critics of the government?” added another PSG fan.

WWN ?

Bayern have started pretty poorly losing the ball cheaply and leaving tons of space at the back.

Lyon will want to take one of these chances before Bayern sort their shit out.

Wow, Bayern insist on the high line and are predictably getting lip up at the back by Lyon's fast forward. They are lucky it's still 0:0.

And just like that, Bayern score. Let's hope Lyon's heads don't drop and they keep playing the same way. They were dominating until the goal.

Bayern have started to exert a bit more control now and Lyon aren’t getting those openings in the same way.

Shame - would’ve been good for Lyon to score.

Looks like Hansi Flick did an anti-Guardiola – refused to adjust his game plan to Lyon's strengths at all. Same suicidal super-high line as against Barca, but faced with a much faster front 2 – almost got punished for it, but Lyon flubbed their great chances and Bayern's attack was typically unstoppable. Neymar and Mbappe watching this must know that everything will depend on whether they take those early chances on Sunday.

Haha, NOW they bring on Sule for Boateng at half-time. Does look like they are methodically increasing his minutes every game to bring him up to fitness for the final.

Interesting to note how Thiago and Goretzka are playing in midfield together. When Bayern are in possession, Goretzka always wants to push forward to receive the ball somewhere closer to Mueller and Lewandowski. Normally it would be considered dangerous to leave just one midfielder to patrol a huge area - what if there is a turn-over? But Thiago’s passing and decision-making is so good that they can make this gamble - any time someone tries to press him the ball invariably ends up with a Bayern player beyond the line of the press.

I know they are very different players but based on this game I would rather have auouar on our team than Thiago, although I'm aware Aouar and Keita seem to be similar players
