Liverpool January Transfer Window

I don’t want to say “hopefully”, but maybe the Matip injury brings forward our interest in a CB from the summer - if one of our targets is available.

Not sure how it works if we want to sign a DM as well - someone would have to be de-listed, unless we find a HG or U21 player.

A CB and a DM should be nailed on.

Should.

I don’t think we’re signing another midfielder so soon, we almost have too many. We do need a CB and we should also start looking for top young left-backs.

Yeah, we're not signing a midfielder in January. A CB should be a priority now.

So what are we up to needing in Jan now - a RB, a CB, a LB, a DM and a RW.

God only knows what we need if we were having a shit season.

Depends who you ask? If it's Donavan then yes.

If it's anyone else then they'll tell you either just a CB or a CB and one of a DM/RB.

Rayan Cherki is available in January for about 20 mill according to reports from reliable French journos. Lyon struggling badly.
At that fee we should just take a chance.

Nope just a DM and CB. A DM who can cover the back 4 and Trent. CB as I don't trust our CBs to stay fit. If we can nab Nico Williams so there's more options on the RW, I wouldn't say no, he is going to be cheap. Williams is only 21 so doesn't need be registered.
Jan... Let Thiago go for Free
If Matip is out for the season de-register him
ideal window
Thuram - or Any DM that's tall and strong
CB - Baraldo has had rave reviews, again some one decent
Niko Williams- for the RW
I know then we have enough players to be with Arse and Man City till the end

@King Binny any good? Its Benfica, so its gonne be €100m, avoid!

Liverpool have made an approach for Benfica's 18-year-old Dutch forward Kyanno Lorenzo Silva. (Football Insider)

"According to SoccerNews, Benfica would ‘like to let him go’ to Liverpool easy ‘for a fee of £200k’, because they know that if they don’t strike a deal now, they could see him leave on a free next summer."

Plays mainly on the right wing. Some of his goals can be found on his IG account: https://www.instagram.com/kyanno_lorenzo/

Predominantly left-footed Right Winger who is Dutch but with a Portuguese father. Was part of the Sparta Rotterdam's youth setup prior to signing for Benfica. According to the article it seems Rio Ferdinand is connected to his development?

His fitness record is worrying though. We will surely need a CB now. Unless Bradley comes in and Gomez is moved to play CB more.

Wonder how they come out with such stats. Depressing though.

He's represented by Rio Ferdinand's New Era Global Sport.

Translated article (https://www.record.pt/futebol/futeb...-pelo-benfica-depois-do-interesse-do-sporting):

[article]Kyanno Lorenzo caught the eye at Sparta Rotterdam and sparked the interest of two Portuguese giants after having two London teams hot on his heels. According to the 16-year-old right-winger, he is a player who "can play in any attacking position" and "plays well with either foot".

"The credit goes entirely to Kyanno. He is very dedicated. He is constantly training. He had some health difficulties, which he overcame, and his strength comes from there. Before the new law came out in England, he had Chelsea and Arsenal behind him. Then, as he couldn't enter England before he was 18 years old, interest from Sporting appeared first, and later from Benfica. Sporting decided not to move forward with a proposal and signed a professional contract with Benfica", said the agent Fábio Bandeira to Record .

The representative of New Era, headed by former England international Rio Ferdinand, revealed what he intends to do with investing in the Portuguese market.

"New Era is a very well-established company in England. The idea is to be able to attract young Portuguese with quality to play in the English market, since now the 'filtering' is much more elaborate. Not just anyone enters England. We want to value Portuguese players and give them security through our work because the company has enormous strength in England. New Era is very aware of the talent there is in Portugal. We want to use Kyanno's qualities to attract other athletes. Portugal is known for creating extremes", said Fábio Bandeira.

Kyanno Lorenzo is a Dutch under-15 international, son of a Portuguese father. He started playing for Feyenoord at the age of nine and moved through the youth ranks to Sparta Rotterdam. On social media, the young player assured that he could not be more satisfied.

"I am very proud and grateful to have signed a three-year professional contract with a great and historic club like Benfica. I promise nothing more than hard work and dedication. Thank you to God and everyone who made this possible. Now is the time to work", Lorenzo stressed.[/article]

Its actually not that bad, it basically means they each have slightly less than a 50% chance of not having a single injury (includign missign 1 match for a sore toe) between now & May. Other than Salah I am not sure many players have significantly better than a 50% chance of not picking up any niggle whatsoever

LIVERPOOL’S MIDFIELD REINFORCEMENT: KHEPHREN THURAM ON THE HORIZON

LIVERPOOL’S ASSERTIVE MOVE FOR THURAM

The transfer buzz is alive with the latest reports linking Liverpool to French midfield maestro Khephren Thuram. Italian outlet Tutto Juve have disclosed Liverpool’s firm intention to outmaneuver competitors for Thuram’s signature.
FINANCIAL PLAY: LIVERPOOL’S STRATEGIC OFFER

It’s all about the numbers in this high-stakes game. Liverpool is reportedly ready to table a £30 million bid, supplemented with additional financial incentives, to acquire the Nice midfielder. This offer is aimed at eclipsing Juventus’s valuation, which stands at over 35 million euros for the 22-year-old talent.

JUVENTUS FALLING BEHIND IN THE RACE

Juventus, another heavyweight in the race, seems to be trailing due to financial constraints. With Liverpool’s robust offer on the table, the Reds are emerging as the frontrunners in this transfer saga.

KLOPP’S MIDFIELD PUZZLE: WHERE DOES THURAM FIT?
Liverpool’s midfield has seen an influx of quality players recently, significantly contributing to their impressive run, both domestically and in European competitions. However, Jürgen Klopp’s quest to find a perfect replacement for Fabinho continues. The club has acquired players like Endo and Mac Allister, but the question remains: Can Thuram fill the void as the natural No.6, the play breaker that Liverpool seeks?

YOUR TAKE: ANFIELD’S NEXT BIG SIGNING?

Khephren Thuram’s versatility and skills are undeniable, but is he the puzzle piece Liverpool needs to maintain their ascent? We invite your views: Should Liverpool push their financial envelope to secure Thuram’s services with a £30 million offer plus add-ons?

Bollocks. We're not in for Thuram or any other midfielder at this point. This is agent talk, using our past interest as leverage to get him a good offer in the summer.

Loads of noise about this Thuram fella since last season. If he indeed costed only 30m and we wanted him, we would have gotten him already, afterall Endo was around 20m.

With his father being Lilian Thuram, I would imagine clubs needing to pay a small fortune to his massive entourage for his services.

Maybe we've had another look at him so far this season and thought he's gone up another level.

Would be more credible if the link was to Lillian as our new defender

We will get Nat Phillips back, Quansah will move to 4th choice and Nat Phillips will be the new 5th choice.

That’s the Liverpool thing to do, so I don’t think we’ll spend in Jan
