Liverpool related transfer speculation

Obviously we would have got more than £10 - from the reports during the Winter - Madrid were will to pay around between £22M-£25M for him in the Jan Transfer window, and we said no. When looking at his performances and his affect on our XG (or whatever stat they use) - I do not think the stats team have valued it enough - and as Klopp said "Blame the Owners not the boy". I also think Slot don't want him really - he just cannot say it.
It's difficult to know, because Trent intended to leave probably before Slot came in; so Slot's never had a committed, focused Trent to work with, he's had Trent with one eye on becoming the superstar he thinks he should be.

Another thing to bear in mind is that he's not being signed by a manager. He's not being signed by someone who has identified his profile as what is needed from a footballing point of view, he's being signed by an owner who doesn't care so much about whether a player fits or not. So from that point of view rationalising any potential transfer fee is difficult to do.

They did, but at least Owen didn't play McMoneyman-style gaslighting games with the club over what he was going to do.
He did though, Jules. Liverpool had made Owen a new contract offer and he kept stringing the club and fans fans along with shite about his agent being on his holidays and will review it just as soon as he gets home. More bullshit and obvious delaying tactics ensued before announcing his departure for Madrid.

Just read that he will be on £150k a week compared to Vinicius and Mbappe £400k and £650k respectively. Doesn’t seem a lot tbh.

Such a weird thing for RM to do for a crappy but profitable tournament. I wonder if this is coming out Trent's signing on fee not that I care.

Assuming Diaz leaves for crazy money... We know Gakpo is # 1 but Kieren Morrison and Rio Ngumoha be given games and minutes. If they get 10 games this season that should be enough to keep Gakpo fresh, anyone agree. I am not averse to Diaz staying but if a big offer came in, it would be hard to turn down

There are reports that Wolves are after Morrison.

This guy is shit innit ? - no thanks.
If you go off his highlight reel, he looks shit. He works hard can get past a player or two, but is more Shane Long than Harry Kane. Benfica got €65m for him. If they wanted to off-load him, £20m is the best they should get for him.

I am not second guessing the data guys, e has scored 1 goal in 2 but only once has he score over 20 goals in a season. I would rather get Spanish 19 year old who scored 20 goals for Porto or Gyokeres

I'm thrilled that we've managed to squeeze Real for some money over Trent. Honestly, we got the benefit of having him for the full season to help us win the title AND we got a fee for him, however modest, after the season.

I still am not wishing him or Real well. But feel like we played the cards we were dealt about as well as possible and I'm glad we didn't just roll over for either Trent or Real.
