Cherki runs about 3km per atch, no way he suits a liverpool system. He will not back track
 
I’m hoping Slot told Cherki that if we’d have offered we’d have paid him 300k a week or whatever we had allocated for Wirtz’s wage…

Scary thing is..

Hes the same weight as Wirtz.

Yet the same people that say Wirtz is too lightweight and not suited to the PL, are the same people who say that Cherki is overweight and not suited to the PL.
 
So can we safely assume from the fact that Cherki was the backup that Wirtz will indeed be playing as a number 10? And therefore that we'll defo get a 9 and (if Diaz leaves) a new LW too?

I don't think anything's definite, but I'm absolutely sure Wirtz is intended to play the 10 role. I'm sure if we signed Cherki there'd be rotation between him and Szobo but Wirtz will play in that role if he's fit, with Szobo spending more time deeper. I also think we might have gone for someone like Adam Wharton if we'd signed Cherki, but suspect we won't go for someone in a deeper position if we sign Wirtz.

No idea who'll we'll end up with in the number 9 position but again I'm assuming we're trying to sign one. I don't think Wirtz will be a false nine.

UEFA and the other federations could fix the issue by fixing international qualifiers and friendlies in that 4-6 week period. if we have the rule of no Africans we would not have had Mo Salah or Mane

Yeah. And we're losing Mo. For 6 weeks. You want to lose more of our front line with another African?
 
Yeah let's descope a continent because of 6 weeks in a year that is held every 2yrs. Asian Cup is next year around same time too, are we going to descope Asia? Maybe Euros should be moved inline now 🙂 Pretty saturated already anyway with 32 nations or whatever. We have to find a way to make it work.

If there was another Mane, 100%! Osimhen is not someone I want as I don't think he fits Slot's system. I think he has done well at mightily poor league and thus over rated.
I posted a video by James lawrence Alcott which suggests Wirtz will play left wing

Diaz
Nunez
Quansah
Elliott
Cheesy
Tsimi/Robbo

How many more signings do we need? Jota and Jo could be part of that contingent who could leave but for the time being there hasn't been as much noise coming from their qtrs as opposed to the others I have mentioned. Gakpo to bayern isn't going to happen

I'm not sure 'likely' is the right term for : Quansah, Diaz or Chiesa. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if all three were still here come next season.

We have this every Summer where people are convinced that Player X is on their way ... and they aren't. We just don't shift that many squad players in one window.
