It's good if Slot rates McConnell cos I think he's quality, but he's going to have to be brave and actually give him significant game time if he's going to progress. He seems to be pretty risk averse when it comes to youngsters.

Yeah, either he gets game time or a loan to a team he’ll play a lot of games for.

I think we’ll see the same as last season, a flurry of loans after there-season friendlies and Slot has had another look at his squad.

yes and no, if slot said i think we’ve got enough in the squad and i don’t want another cb then you can’t really blame hughes. maybe he really fancies endo and badger there.

but right now with a broken gomez and no quansah it does look really weak.

I don't think that they would have let Quansah go without having had a verbal agreement in place, with Palace & Guehi, to replace him. I expect to see that finalised in the next 2-3 weeks.
