The questions I have is, can we get Isak and Guehi and is 3Cbs enough? I am not going to include Jo as part of our defence as he is just too unreliable . Endo is too fucking short and Badge like Jo is never fit enough for long enough.

Yes we can get Guehi & Isak and yes, 3 CBs is just about enough although a 4th younger CB would be good.
The 4th CB, is essentially a player that’s good enough if required but is also comfortable with hardly playing - because you don’t really want to be relying on them.
You won’t get a kid being happy with that. They need games. 7 cup games won’t cut it. Why did Quansah leave? He’d never get the development he needs being 4th choice here.

Whoever that 4th CB is - they’re not playing outside of domestic cups or dead rubbbers unless it’s an emergency - and they’ll play even less if Gomez is actually fit fir any length of time.
At least with a youngster, if he’s under 21, he won’t take up a squad place and we can spend a season drilling him with the expectation that he gets more game time next season and beyond.

I felt nothing but pride of a local lad standing up for the fans.
Not sure why we get ourselves all riled up over some no marks, perhaps I am not local. I get that it's a derby and local pride and all that but we need to keep our eyes on the prize. If it was someone like Virg, Mo or Macca getting himself sent off and missing 3 games over these lot in the middle of a title challenge, I would be incensed.
What do we have with Gomez? A player who is getting on, not better than Virgil, Konate or Guehi, on a fat wedge and only will get chances in cups or dead rubbers. He’s always injured too.
It’s replacing that with someone who can actually play those dead rubbers and cup games.
If your lad was 20 years old, really good at footy and had the choice of going to Liverpool to play 8 games a season (let’s be serious, once we get closer to a final the big boys play) or go somewhere and play 35 games a season you will take the latter.
If it was as simple as have a kid as our option we would’ve kept Quansah yet we all know, and it’s the same with Elliott, they need games and to improve and build physical attributes to ever get good enough for us.
