That cunt knows nothing.
It'll be like 30m max on a winger, probably Fofana, or a loan fee on some mad cunt.
Olise appaz has a release clause that will be valid from next summer. Salah replacement?
My only reservation with him is I saw him interviewed once and he came across as an absolute plank.
Perfect end to the window:
1) Isak
2) Guehi
3) Cheap LW 21-23 year old (a beast in offensive transition and 1v1s). Mane-lite. Lookman or Sulemanna might have been a good option. If it doesn't work out in 3-5 years, we sell on for same price, by which time Rio N is ready to take over. If it does work out, then Gakpo will probably have left or sold on.
4) Hot shit DM prospect. The next Caicedo/Baleba before Brighton sign them.
Do we need a LW? Isak, Guehi and Hayden, unless they want to use Guehi as a CDMPerfect end to the window:

Guehi would be 3rd choice. We'd be one off a entire new XI if that happens.
I think (3) is a must unless Slot is committed to giving Rio game time.
The DM situation is ringing alarm bells for me. I'm not sure if getting a prospect pre-Brighton move is right due to the fact that they typically need that season or two to play consistently but I'd take it over nothing.
Next summer we need to rebalance the midfield group.
Guehi would be 3rd choice.
Isak would replace Ekitike.
The LW is like going to be 2nd choice, with the ability to rotate with Cody. I tell you who would be a good option to look at. Ignoring age profile, but if we want an immediate fix. Semenyo. Not because of yesterday, but on the evidence of the last 2 seasons. He's capable of playing well on both sides and it 2 footed too.
The DM, I agree, we probably need someone more refined, although Baleba/Caicedo did hit the ground running when they came to the PL.
I've been saying we should sign Semenyo for ages. I don't understand why nobody went for him. He seemed like such a Liverpool signing too, mid 20s, good but not quite great yet but obviously with untapped potential.
He seemed like the best candidate for another Mane or Salah.
Hes always been too inconsistent for the fee they'd want, and I feel he's a bit too 1 dimensional. He's ideal for when we're against open teams and we can hit with pace, but against a low block I can't see him being useful consistently enough.
He shines for Bournemouth because teams generally don't sit back against them
Agreed.I've seen him give teams a torrid time just playing a traditional winger role in tight spaces too tbh.
In general though I think that's always a bit of a delicate balance with that wide forward role in a 433. You need a strong runner who can cover big spaces and ideally someone with enough finesse to beat a man. You don't tend to find those in the same players, so a lot of the time you're compromising on one of them. I personally think Semenyo is one of the best mixes of the two in the league.
He's definitely a good winger, but good enough for us? I've got my doubts, and at 25 he's entered his peak (for a flying tricky winger).I've seen him give teams a torrid time just playing a traditional winger role in tight spaces too tbh.

Agreed.
In the first half, when the spaces weren't as big he still gave Kerkez a tough time. Rolled him at least once.
In the tight spaces, Gakpo might be better to combine and score as he did yesterday. But when the game becomes open and you need an outlet, Semenyo would be a better candidate, as he showed with his 2 goals yesterday too.

He's better than Bournemouth like
Yeah, he's not a 1 v 1 guy in the sense of going past a player dribbling. Neither is Salah any more. The problem with Gakpo in tight spaces is he's pretty immobile. He's got the touch but not the movement.
Whats everyone's thoughts on why we didnt persist in going in for Sesko as opposed to chasing Isak for 150 odd mill? Do we think Klopp warned us off him maybe?
i would’ve argued against #3 two weeks ago but it seems like slot is adamant about not really playing rio yet
question: salah goes to afcon and bradley is injured who plays right side?
