I don't think he was meant to be a number two. If he proved well, he was supposed to be the long term replacement for Al. Besides Al has been out for significant portions of last three season.
Sample size if far too small. It's weird that I automatically think this for a keeper and most would agree, but we don't do the same for outfield players.
Anyways.. Has he cost us anything yet i terms of goals or points? I don't think so. I heard the reports from last season and was quite worried, but he's been fine. We don't know if he's better or worse than his current showing cos he hasn't played enough games, but he's definitely a good keeper.

He's a massive guy and is clearly a good shot-stopper, but Kelleher was miles better as a sweeper keeper, both in his quickness and willingness to come off the line as well as with the ball at his feet.
In the context of a high-line and full-backs pushing up, we've always needed a capable sweeper-keeper to snuff out those long balls quickly.
In a post-Alisson world, there's no way we'll be able to play like that. So maybe the structure of our play is going to change - let's see
The ugly warts of that transition have been on full display already this year, and part of that is Mamardashvili's inability to come off the line
Will see how it pans out - there've been big fuck-off keepers like Courtois and Donnarumma who've reached the very top level despite not being very good with the ball at their feet. That's the archetype for Mamardashvili to emulate

Dash is only 25, which is still quite young for a keeper so he can definitely improve certain aspects of his game.

Early days, but I've been impressed. His shot-stopping is next level, and he's better with his feet than I thought he would be. He's cleared it when he's needed to, and there have also been some very encouraging long passes. I remember one that the commenters were comparing to Ederson's. There have been one or two moments he hasn't come off his line quickly and decisively, which has been my main worry for him, as it's something all the best keepers have in their locker. For a £25-£30M player coming from a new league, etc., it's gone well. Sadly, Alisson's injuries are all too predictable, and we need quality in reserve.
Kelleher has looked shite for Brentford. That makes me think this guy is an upgrade. I would like to see him come out quicker and be more dominant in that sense. Other than that I think he’s been quality.

Allison is something else, but this lad has shown some balls - should he become Allison’s successor in a couple years time, I think he’s showing promise.
