Reminder that Academy spend isn't counted towards PSR / FFP. So if we have the cash, this doesn't really have any negative financial consequences, and presumably improves our chances of recruiting the best kids and developing them to achieve their potential. After a summer when we've spent so much cash, it's good to see development hasn't been forgotten.

I think thats the crux of it. We develop the academy, then we improve our long term finances. Entice the best, sell the average, and pocket it all.

Wouldn't surprise me if we're looking at Cobham and going "lets take a slice of that"

i also think it's telling that a lot of the "big money" signings, have referenced our training ground. It makes us look a professional outfit and we must be so far ahead of the curve
