Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

Or not have him take a penalty above others on 95th min?
Probably got Szbo as an option, rest I'm not sure about including Macca who seems to out form and fitness. I just thnk back to the PSG Pens and can only remember everyone else being horrible soon as we didn't have Trent and Macca not being an option.
Agree with sentiment, but obvious why Slot would prefer to take Etikete and Gakpo who didn't seem to doing much anyway.

If Salah isn't performing like a superstar, then the club shouldn't treat him like one. We've got plenty of players who are proving they can make a difference off the bench and other penalty options. This year, I would like to have him subbed more regularly if he's not performing and for him to quit throwing a tantrum when it happens.

Even when on form, he's approaching an age where he should welcome us managing his minutes (to a point) to increase his longevity in the game.

If he stays to next season, he'll almost certainly get to second on that list. Then certainly the best winger in my memory in the league, when you include longevity in it, if he's not already that.

34 league games to go, and he has to miss several for the AFCON. Suppose that's 6 games (a week before tournament, a few group games, a knockout game in the Round of 16).

To pull even with Rooney this season, he'll then need 20 goals in 28 league games, which means scoring at a rate that's only bettered by his first season here (32 in 36) and last season (29 in 38). I doubt that'll happen.

My guess is that his ceiling is about 200 ~ 203 this season if he's in decent-to-good form (i.e. another 12 to 15 goals). And then it's a final push next season to try and overtake both Rooney and Kane. Hopefully he'll succeed in his endeavours. I'm sure he has these targets in mind.

Kane will be back - I doubt he can reach Shearer even with another 3-4 seasons in the PL but should secure 2nd.

Does anyone really not want Salah on the pitch when we are chasing a winning goal?

I’d be more inclined to take him off when we are winning.

Tbh I'd was much less inclined to take him off when it left us with a front three of Darwin, Diaz and Elliott/Chiesa.

With Hugo and Isak, I'm ok if they stay on and Frimpong come on for Salah (for e.g.) to provide some pace.

Yeah I suspect that Kane will be back at some point too, although having said that, I also struggle to think who would be likely to sign him at 34 when his contract's over at Bayern (2027). I think the likes of City, Chelsea and Arsenal aren't likely to bet on him at that age. Okay, maybe the Gunners, if theyr'e desperate enough after finishing 2nd again these two seasons.

Which leaves Man Utd -- yeah, that's possible, if they go back to the "sign proven veterans" playbook again. He'll probably still cost too much for the rest of the league.

Back to Spurs? I guess his salary will be greatly reduced and I'm not sure he'll see out his contract at BM so could still be 'viable' for some clubs.

I think to kill the Ronaldo or Giggs argument he could do with another league title.

It really is insane numbers.

I could see him moving to a mid table team to try and chase down Shearer, depending how many he gets this season and next.

Or he could pull a Hendo and join Brentford
