He can't cover Mo. That's been proven time and time again. No pace, no trickery.I'd rather keep Harvey as cover for Mo than rely on Chiesa.

Has it? When? When were these mythological games where Elliott got a chance on the right wing in a full strength side?He can't cover Mo. That's been proven time and time again. No pace, no trickery.
He's better than both Doak and Chiesa there right now that's the point. We can't rely on just Frimpong with the AFCON coming up.He can't cover Mo. That's been proven time and time again. No pace, no trickery.
I think it's more likely to be FringpongDoak is the backup to mo. It's not ideal, but at least he's direct and has the tricks

He hasn't played a lot of games in the absence of Salah, in a strong side, because Salah has more or less always been available, save the mixed bag of games Modo has just posted. I don't particularly think it's his best role, but that's not the point, comments like "he's repeatedly proven this and that" aren't particularly helpful or any less biased.I can accept that you rate Elliot higher than I do, and I totally get the idea that should be room for a player like him, with his attitude, in our side.
I don't really get the fervor about it though. Elliot did get games on the right, as a sub, and a handful of starts, but not many, because two managers thought that he's probably better at cm or am, than trying to play out wide, and who would argue with them, he needs space to work.
He didn't get more because Salah is there.
He didn't set the world alight when he was there. He also wasn't horrible. He's a short, not particularly fast technical little dude. He's like Lallana, a guy that is good when you're on your way to being really good, but not there yet.
Now maybe he will put it all together, but not for us. The teams in for him so far are about what id expect, which tells it's own tale. He needs to pick the right team, he does indeed need lots of games, but the fact that he isn't getting them here isn't an unanswered question, it's just an answer you don't like to the question.

Does he need a full strength side to prove whether he does or doesn't have pace or trickery?Has it? When? When were these mythological games where Elliott got a chance on the right wing in a full strength side?
I doubt either of those statements are true. In fact based on what we've seen of Frimpong and Doak in pre-season I'd say spectacularky wrong. Elliott isn't a winger in any shape or form. He's better than both Doak and Chiesa there right now that's the point. We can't rely on just Frimpong with the AFCON coming up.
Helpful? Nothing we say here is helpful. It's a forum Mark! Depends on Bradley's availability reallyI think it's more likely to be Fringpong
We still have Gomez (sometimes). He has been decent at right back on occasionDepends on Bradley's availability really
That first bit isn't true. West Ham, Tottenham and Villa have all been reported to be taking an interest.
Well if you believe everything you read then sure, but some wannabe fan accounts tweeting for likes isn't interest to me - I'm talking about actual interest to sign from actual sources.
West Ham don't want him, they're trying to sign Fernandes from Southampton.
Spurs don't want him, they're after Eze now Gibbs White's signed a new deal.
Villa don't want him, they're trying to re-sign Asensio.
Well, if you believe everything you read, then sure. To coin a phrase.
Edited for accuracy.I think that having Wirtz in the side will show us how we should have played Elliot.
