I wonder if Shaq's absence on the bench (in favor of Curtis Jones) on Sunday means the talks with Roma are in advanced stage. He makes a lot of sense for the giallorossi – they are currently in 4th battling for the CL spot and are desperate for a quality replacement for Nicolo Zaniolo, who did his cruciate last week. I'm sure Shaq wants to go since he will probably get his medal from us anyway – and he can actually play every week for a good team while doing so. Naturally, Roma's initial offer was a loan with option to buy – but I would imagine everyone will be happy with a loan with obligation to buy similar to the Danny Ings sale to Saints.

Hopefully we keep him until the end of the season.

There's no reason to deplete our squad depth at this stage of the season - even if he is a bit part player at best at the moment.

Also, with the Euros coming up - if he has a solid tournament it'll only add to his valuation.

If Roma can't afford him now, then why get rid of him when we can potentially sell him to a club who can take him on a permanent transfer end of season?

Saw comments he made about returning to full training this week , yesterday

Can't imagine he's going anywhere , for him or for us - it makes little/ no sense

He did say he had a little nick which should fully recover from by end of the week but if he's not in the squad for Shrewsbury I'd imagine he's probably off as I don't see him getting any game time at all.

I think the CL is going to take priority at some stage all being well and the likes of Shaq will get plenty of time in the shop window.

a lot of players leaving this summer I believe.
Several player that are on loan will be sold. At least 4 senior players will leave, I'm thinking Lovren, Lallana, Clyne and Shaq.

I can’t see anyone leaving this window unless they are a young player. I thought I read somewhere shaq picked up a small strain ahead of the United game

Clyne’s a weird one. He’s only 28 and yet he seems to have been binned by Klopp and no one is interested in a loan or pre contract

I wouldn't. Ings was keen to go to Southampton specifically, and (even more importantly) Italian clubs are past masters at finding ways to finesse such deals for their own benefit. I don't want Shaq to leave anyway.

They can buy him (for the right fee) or f'ck right off AFAIC.

£40m or Fuck Off. The Ings deal still pisses me off

There will defo be suitors to sign him on a pre-contract, though he'll have to accept a move to some fodder side.

Clyne’s still at the club ? Is he still on the payroll ?

What does he have to do each day ? Does he have to clock in at work ? If he’s injured he’s certainly not training then.

Not bad huh going in each week getting free massages and still get paid loads !!

[article]Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted his frustration with Xherdan Shaqiri's fitness record.

Shaqiri has been restricted to just six Premier League appearances this season, with the Switzerland international having struggled with injuries.

Klopp has sympathy with Shaqiri over his situation and stressed that he wishes that he was available more often.

As reported by The Mirror, Klopp said: 'It is not cool, absolutely not cool but maybe there are different reasons.

'He is a very special player in different departments. His physique is different to all others I ever saw, his muscles are unbelievable.

'So far it was never big but it was always enough to get him out, I can imagine that is frustrating, it is frustrating for him and not good for us.

'We work on that. We don't want to bring in a situation where it constantly happens but so far we didn't find 100 per cent the solution for it so we have to see.'

Despite his injury issues, Shaqiri remains highly regarded by Liverpool, who rejected attempts from Sevilla and Roma to sign him on loan.

Since joining Liverpool in 2018, Shaqiri, who can make an impact as an attacking midfielder or out wide, has made 40 appearances for Liverpool, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.

In addition to Shaqiri, Sadio Mane, James Milner, Naby Keita, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne are also sidelined. [/article]
