The LeBron Sweepstakes & NBA Offseason

Where will he end up ...

The largest domino of a phenomenal free agent class: James, Bosh, Wade, Pierce & Dirk (though I think the last two will re-sign with their own teams).

Man I wonder if the Mavs have ANY chance with James ...

Re: The LeBron Sweepstakes & NBA Offseason?

Rumours abound that James and Bosh will join Wade in Miami to form a dream team.

Personally, I think James is milking this attention too much.

yup, i've heard that ... if he's smart, he'll stay well away from the Knicks.

I agree with your last part too but he's said he wants this sorted by July 5th ... so 4 more days and then BANG!

Re: The LeBron Sweepstakes & NBA Offseason?

Chicago. Jordan is his idol, he'll follow in his footsteps.

There's no chance Bosh / James / Wade will end up all on the same team.

Re: The LeBron Sweepstakes & NBA Offseason?

Pierce and Dirk sign with their own teams. Amar'e to New York almost confirmed.

Suns are screwed 🙁

how on earth do the suns replace amare's offensive stats and defensive presence? maybe they should trade stevie nash and start rebuilding.

Suns have signed Channing Frye and Hakim Warrick to make up for A'mare.

Poor Nash, he signed a contract extension because the GM told him that they will do their best to surround him with good players.

As for James, Wade et al, SIGN THE DEALS ALREADY.

Can't stand their attitudes.

ESPN reported Tuesday night that LeBron James will announce his future NBA plans during a one-hour special on its network at 9 p.m. Thursday. ESPN's Chris Broussard said James' "representatives" contacted the network and asked for the unusual arrangement.

This is ridiculous. He really wants to milk it for all it's worth.

Why shouldn't he?
I just think that he's more concerned with exposure rather than winning, that's all.

Will King James follow?
Won't be surprised if he does Stu.

Thing is, Miami doesnt have the cap space UNLESS all Wade, Bosh and James agree to earn less - which is still a lot-or, Miami manages to trade both Beasley and Chalmers and brings nothing back in exchange. I would think very seriously because Miami would then have to fill up the rest of the roster space with minimum contract players, i.e. not so good players. So essentially it will be 3 superstars + substandard roster.

Big D Rumor is that they're (well at least Beasley) is going to Dallas in a sign and trade for Haywood.

Yeah makes sense for Miami.

They get a 5 to minimize Bosh's defensive deficiencies.

However, don't quite get the deal for Dallas though. Beasley's a PF, and that's where Dirk plays. It still doesn't solve Dallas' lack of a starting center.

Yeah, Shaq is a possibilty for Dallas too, given his close ties with Dirk and Cuban. But Shaq is not the dominating center he was now. And he is injury-prone too. Dallas' best bet is to re-sign Haywood I feel.

BTW, HUGE rumours coming out saying James will sign with Miami.

Ok - I'll update what I've heard

1) the Miami rumor DHSC mentions (which means Beasley is going)
2) a friend of mine in New York says that the MSG stock went up through the roof ... He says it's LeBron related
3) A Cleveland reporter who's done his research and he says that LeBron's changed his tax address to the Windy City. Now he stresses this does not mean he will sign in Chicago necessarily (as his agent lives there) BUT that he'll defo be leaving Cleveland.

I think Chicago's out. New York, possibly, especially since they can still add another superstar free agent next season. Miami is still the favourite outside of Cleveland though. However, I can't see James joining because of his ego.

I agree with SG. I think he's going to sign a 3 year deal with Cleveland, try to win a championship or leave when he doesn't. We'll see the same scenes again in 2013.

What do you think Avram?

P.S.: Is Assulin a Knicks fan? He must be shaking!

San Antonio would be nice though!
You know what SG, I read an article recently about the Spurs. If they had not give Ginobili an extension and had they know Jefferson would opt out of his contract, they could have been in the LBJ sweepstakes.

Bugger 🙁

I doubt he'd want to go there though. Hardly the most exciting city for his 'image'.
That might be true, but imagine the other free agents!

Bosh + Duncan would be totally scary. The new twin towers.

Lee + Duncan too.
