The new number 9…

Have a sneaky feeling we can get Isak. Newcastle seem worried and the journos aren’t shutting the story down either.

If he tells them he wants to leave it’s on like donkey kong.

I watched some crap earlier of a video purportedly showing Isak landing in Liverpool to do his medical - damn they went to a lot of trouble to wind us up !

I've convinced myself that:
1. Newcastle are willing to sell;
2. Isak wants to come;
3. We are will pay a transfer record £150m + fee; and
4. This man's groin is completely fucked and it's a matter of when we find out.

It's all gone super-quiet on the Alvarez front after a lot of early chatter

Has he signed a new deal or lined up for someone else or something?

Osihmen is mental. Scores goals but I'm not sure we want the possibility of this deal exploding in our faces.
Think I'd rather pay the extra money for Isak and get it right.

If Isak turns out be impossible to sign then we have a lot of scouting and decision to take.

I think Osimhen and Nick Walto could be good combo. It would mean losing Jota. The only reason I am pointing at two as opposed to one is Afcon and injuries.
I think if he came to LFC, it would be with the understanding Slot is the boss and he is swimming in the big pond. Its like when Fergie had to deal with egos, he did it.
I think there is a plan but it will take weeks to reveal itself

I don't think we should sign anyone with a dodgy attitude. It's hardly ever worth it. I don't know much about Osimhen but he does sound a bit, er, "difficult".

It can work out. 18 months ago everyone said Dembele had a dodgy attitude. Cantona, Tevez, Suarez, Quaresma, Gallas etc all caused managers headaches but all probably were worth the effort.

One of the many good things Klopp did was to get rid of the arseholes in the squad. Sakho was the obvious example of this. By all accounts a nice enough lad, generous with his time and money when it came to community work, but a bit of an idiot, and easily led (think Gazza, but not as funny). While I was there, it was notable that there were fewer and fewer internal issues with player egos. In fact you would often hear good things about how respectful the players were to the staff - just little things like please and thank you, and always saying hello to visitors. That's not to say that they were humble on the pitch - there was a time and a place for swagger - but all of his leadership group were good pros. Someone like Osimhen coming in might get the kick up the arse he needs from his fellow squad members to sort his shit out, but he would more likely disrupt the existing harmony. Not sure about Kerkez, but Frimpong seems like a top lad and Wirtz appears humble and genuinely glad to be here. I wouldn't risk the balance by throwing a dickhead into the mix.
