While it is not really an appropriate colour scheme for a Liverpool kit, even a third strip, I doubt if the people at Addidas are totally unaware of what normal fans will think of the design.
I also doubt if the whole design and marketing team behind the idea are a complete room of numpties.
So is it possible that they have looked at sales of the third strip from previous seasons and realised that it doesn't hold much appeal for Liverpool fans either way thereby giving them the idea of making a strip that appeals to a different market.

You know the type of people, they are Liverpool fans but struggle to name a player beyond Stevie G, Carra (they don't know their full names) oh and Fernando Torres.

I'm fairly sure they've changed the rules, you can choose to wear away/3rd kits away for home even when the home doesnt clash. I may be wrong but seem to remember reading it.
 
As Jon said in another thread, I don't mind the original kit idea. Sadly this is not. Anyway, we wear red. If we can't, we wear White. If we can't. We wear yellow. If we cant, fuck them.
