Liverpool and Kenny Dalglish look set to miss out on a number of players in the next few days as Connor Wickham looks set to join Sunderland, and they are giving up in signing Jose Enrique and Gael Clichy as it seems Newcastle and Arsenal refuse to sell their players to a rival Premiership club.
It has been well documented that Liverpool need a left-back and their latest target is believed to be Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge. He fits the bill perfectly for Dalglish, he wants to buy British remember, and he should also be available at a decent price, believed to be in the region of £7million. VCBet have this morning priced Bridge at just 2/1 (3.0) to be a Liverpool player by the time the transfer windows closes. City need to get rid of the likes of Bridge to reduce their ever increasing wage bill, so the interest shown by Liverpool could pave the way for a move.
Another midfielder is also on the Dalglish wish list, after Adam and Downing. The player in question is Aaron Lennon of Tottenham who according to reports in the papers is desperate for a move back to the North of England. VCBet are offering just 6/4 (2.50) on Lennon leaving Tottenham this summer and signing for Liverpool, a move that would give Harry Redknapp much needed funds to secure the futures of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, but again it all depends on whether Redknapp will want to sell one of his better players to a rival club.
