It's never a yellow is it but we need more refs in the Prem that pull out a yellow like that.

Ghana first big nation out I think.

What a mess at the end of this game, 5 minutes of fighting, red cards being shown.

Gabon playing in Brazil colours, 2 goals of high quality though....Ayew with the first & Allevinah lovely stepovers goes on the outside and drills a effort into the bottom corner.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been diagnosed with heart lesions after recovering from Covid-19 at the Africa Cup of Nations. The Arsenal forward was ruled out of Gabon’s 1-1 draw against Ghana on Friday.

The “cardiac lesions” were found in a check by Confederation of African Football (CAF) medical officials, the Gabonese FA said in a statement. Officials examined Aubameyang after he returned following a positive Covid test. Two of his Gabon teammates, forward Axel Meyé and midfielder Mario Lemina, who were both also found to have the same issue.

Aubameyang tested positive at an airport on arrival in Cameroon last week and was put into isolation. The 32-year-old missed Gabon’s first game of the tournament, a 1-0 win over Comoros. He tested negative for the virus and left isolation two days before the Ghana game and had been expected to return to the team.

The Athletic (£) reports that Arsenal’s doctors are thought to have spoken to Gabon’s medical team about the diagnosis, and have been reassured the player is feeling well and the situation is not serious.

So Kieta will fly back?

Fuck hold off. Salah just scored a banging volley.

Could be offside though....he's on ya'noe

Keeper maybe coulda shoulda done better.

Guinea Bissau level!! Thunderbolt of a strike.

Maybe not, possible foul in build up for a tug back....going to VAR.

Goal disallowed.

Guinea are actually playing some lovely pass-and-move football in the 2nd half. Zimbabwe are trying to hang on. Very watchable game.

The ref is female - the players seem to respect her; she looks like a mom watching some kids kick it around in the park.

Malawi had a pen overruled by VAR. Still 0-0.

Senegal no chance winning this, neither do Egypt.

Zimbabwe hold on as Guinea ran out of steam and patience. Senegal win the group in the most unconvincing fashion, Guinea advance as well, but Naby will miss the next game due to the accumulation of yellow cards.

2 x MotM and an absolute cracker of a goal in this one. Bring that home Naby lad.
