So the serene and relatively unsullied balls of the Buddha inspired our boys towards a more disciplined and doughty display.

Finding inspiration in the words of the venerable Shakyamuni Buddha, I invite you all to meditate on the mantra “fuck the chavs” and elongate your out breath. There…

How to line up after an improved and combative display? For me Badger tits deserves a place and I’d be tempted to ask Gomez to defend first at right back against their new flying 90m left winger. Nunez straight back in but tempted to ask him to start left and for him and Salah to interchange.

If it’s a Klopp 433 I’d go…

Alli
Gomez. Matip. Konate. Robbo
Fabs
Badger. Keita
Elliott. Nunez
Salah

A like for the title. Don’t tempt fate.

Same middle three for me. I feel sorry for the boy but I’d expect him to miss out for Salah. Nunez to come in for fab c. His pace will be vital.

Ali

Trent
Konate
Gomez
Robertson

Bager tits
Keita
Thiago

Salah
Nunez
Gakpo

The games Nunez hasnt been involved in lately we’ve really struggled to be a goal threat in.

Forest, Brighton and today. Shows how important he is to us.

Even though he had a pretty quiet evening I’d still give Gakpo another go.

Btw does anyone know where the fuck Ramsay is?

Alisson Trent Matip Konate Robbo Bajcetic Thiago Keita Salah Nunez Gakpo

We’re almost like for like. What’s going on?

Yep I'd choose this team - but Klopp won't. The only thing I really don't like is that when Matip starts he's RCB - Konate is ace there and a wonderful, pacy, backup for Trent. I don't think Matip can play LCB though can he?

I'd love to see Bajcetic start alongside Fabs + Thiago but Klopp will have Fabs, Thiago + likely Hendo though I'd prefer Keita in that case.

Gakpo hasn't set the world alight yet but he's very tidy and doesn't often lose possession. He could supply the bullets for Nunez.

Hard team to pick. It would be very bold to exclude Fabs, but all of Thiago, Badger & Naby should be undroppable for the sheer gulf in performance they've shown in past game or two against the others who are in the biggest troughs of their career. Given we know Chelsea will be playing some youth, I think it becomes less of a risk for us to do so too.

I'd also keep Gakpo starting, even though that is harsh on Elliot, but I think pace in behind will remain key and that is one thing Harvey doesn't have in his locker.

I don't see Matip not starting but his passing has been shocking lately.

--------------Alisson-------------
Trent--Matip--Konate--Robbo
--------------Badger--------------
-------Naby----------Thiago----
Salah-------Nunez------Gakpo

Guaranteed we'll see Hendo & Fabs though.

Steph will be rested,.

Trent at RB are we sure about that? When we do play him, the opposition overload on the Right.
Naby has one decent game and people are getting hyped. The guy is still 5ft 4 and doesn't win anything in the air. He is actually slow, and is easily barged off the ball. But I'd still play Naby so he gets injured in Jan as oppose to Feb so we can do something about it.
Really no complaints about anyone else.
I'd still favour 4-4-2 over 4-3-3.

I know. Why dont we play Trent in midfield?

It's likely Hendo starts, but I'd rather he didn't.

Mudryk is going to have a debut hat trick if Trent plays the way he usually does.

Ali
Trent Matip Konate Robbo
Badger Fab Keita
Elliot Salah Nunez

For me

I would rather play Konate at RCB than anyone else at the moment. Matip is playing poorly; Gomez's form obviously has been rubbish but I thought he looked much better at LCB on tuesday; I'd play him there and Konate at RCB, which should provide better cover for Trent. The same midfield three as against Wolves, though Keita will probably be injured by then, in which case I'd play Milner there. And then Salah, Nunez and Gakpo up front.
