CHESTER FC officials have secured a pre-season friendly against Liverpool – and are keeping their fingers crossed the Reds’ internationals do well at Euro 2012.

Neil Young’s Evo-Stik Premier Division champions will prepare for the new Conference North season by welcoming the Anfield side on July 25.

Liverpool are likely to send a side made up largely of reserve and Academy players because the senior squad will be midway through their tour of North America.

But Chester are hoping that several of Kenny Dalglish’s players on duty in Poland and Ukraine this summer progress deep into the competition.

A late return to club commitments could see some of the Reds’ star names excused a trans-Atlantic flight, although, where possible, Liverpool will want as many of their high profile players across the pond.

“Liverpool can’t commit to exactly what kind of team they will put out at this stage, but they understand that it is a fixture which we hope will attract a big crowd and generate funds for the club,” Chester chief executive Pat Cluskey said.

Cluskey hopes to have further talks with the Reds this summer about using Chester’s Exacta Stadium for some Liverpool reserve team fixtures next season.

The Reds’ second string had scheduled a game against Manchester United at the ground last season but a frozen pitch put paid to the fixture.

Chester travel to AFC Fylde on July 15, host Southport on July 17, Scottish League Cup winners Kilmarnock on July 21 and Conference champions Fleetwood Town on August 7.

The Liverpool match is one of five pre-season fixtures already arranged by Chester.

It replaces a planned meeting with Blackburn Rovers, who agreed to cancel their trip to the Exacta once Chester were approached by the Reds.

They'll get Aquilani. He'll be man of the match and then he'll be shipped off to Fiorentina on loan.

Where they'll play him for a few games and then, inexplicably, pass on the chance to buy this world beater.

It's weird though, he's so shit that he still manages to get shipped off to top teams in Italy.
It's the equivalent of us selling Adam to Valencia and they later on ship him off to Chelsea and Man U respectively.
So the notion of Aqua being shit makes no sense at all.

Modo - for the umpteenth time, Aqua has ability but has only ever shown it to the likes of Chester FC, never significantly against a good PL team. (note the word significantly if you want to bring up the 15 minutes against Arsenal).

And the notion of him being so good other teams will want to buy him also makes very little sense.

Modo, its time to let the Aqua thing go mate.

He's a good player, but his future lies somewhere else and most likely in Italy. He obviously didnt want to move and we shouldnt have bought him in the first place.

I was just making a comparison....

A very forced hypothetical comparison in a desperate attempt to defend an argument that died a death ages ago. No clubs seem to want to sign him.

Well, no. Not when we're desperate to sell. I bet there's a lot of teams that would have him for free though.

Once again, hopelessly hypothetical. So now your argument is he's so good there's a mass of teams that want him on a free, except you don't have the slightest clue of any such team. Stop it, it's embarrassing.

Because of his wages maybe. I don't see many teams chasing Cole for instance?

Fiorentina.

If he's that good all teams will want to pay his wages, he's not and therefore they don't. And because Cole also isn't that good.

Do you know how the financial climate in Italy is at the moment?
Aquilani had to agree to cut his wages in order to move to Milan.

What the hell are you blathering on about now?

If he's willing to cut his wages to play in Italy then he DOES NOT WANT TO BE A LIVERPOOL PLAYER. So why the hell are you tiresomely bringing up the same subject over and over again?

Wow that's a fair conclusion. So the story goes we begged him to stay and he cut his wages in order to join a top team in Italy?
Stop replying and it won't be brought up.

Where does it say we begged him to stay?

I think you're find you bought up the subject when there was no mention of him in the original post. Stop twisting threads to Aqua and posters might actually stop making you look a berk.

This quote by his father really tells the story of him not wanting to be in Liverpool.
"I don't think Milan will decide to buy Alberto, otherwise he would've done it. Son returns to Liverpool. Alberto have always enjoyed in England”, - Claudio Aquilani Football Italia

But I bet you know Alberto better than his father.

Actually that quote doesn't. He's under contract with Liverpool, if Milan doesn't want him then he HAS to return. The last thing you want is to say you're not interested in your present job if you don't have something else lined up hence the final sentence. The final sentence also does not mention Liverpool, it says England. Could this be a plea for other Premiership teams to come and get him?

Try again.
