I'd like me some N'zogbia

He's a good player and I rate him, but I do believe we need some world-class attacking talent and he certainly isn't that, and he doesn't have the potential to reach that level. He'd improve us a lot, but whether or not he has enough to satisfy the fans ambitions is very questionable.

Now we've got a Suarez playing for us I think we're all going to be a bit snobby about players this summer. Nothing wrong with that really.

I think he could do a great job for us he is fast, can go past defenders and get a decent cross in. We haven't bought a player like him since Kenny was boss last time.

Really? Is he THAT good? I mean, we have bought the best part of 150 players since Kenny was last in charge.

DISCLAIMER - I'm not saying the below is good enough either as a regular, but here goes....

I'd rather have Downing than N'Zogbia.

IN-DEMAND Wigan midfielder Charles N’Zogbia is set to snub Liverpool – because he is desperate to return to Newcastle.

French ace Charles N'Zogbia will leave Wigan this summer but his heart is set on St James’s Park rather than join Kenny Dalglish at Anfield.

Newcastle are ready to match his £55,000-a-week wages – almost twice his current salary. And while they are unwilling to meet Wigan chairman Dave Whelan’s £12m valuation, the Geordies are optimistic a deal can be thrashed out.

N’Zogbia’s preference for Newcastle means Liverpool boss Dalglish will redouble his efforts to land Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing following hot on the heels of Jordan Henderson’s imminent £20m arrival.

N’Zogbia, 25, quit the Toon in acrimonious circumstances in January 2009, vowing never to kick another ball for the club after then manager Joe Kinnear labelled him “Charles Insomnia.”

But a source close to N’Zogbia said: “Charles never really wanted to leave. It was Kinnear he fell out with, not Newcastle.

“He has kept in touch with several of his former team-mates and told them he would love to go back.

“And while he has never worked for Alan Pardew, he knows his No.2 John Carver very well.

“In fact, it was John who gave him his Premier League debut when he was caretaker-manager.

“He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, loves the city and would jump at the chance of pulling on the shirt again.”

Yeah but still. It's a pretty muck side. I like N'Zogbia, though.

SUNDERLAND believe they have stolen a march in the race for Charles N’Zogbia – as Steve Bruce plots a Wearside revolution that will see 10 players join the Black Cats.

The winger was told by Wigan yesterday that he could leave the Latics if someone stumps up in excess of £9million and is prepared to foot his £60,000-a-week wages.

And the Black Cats – newly flush with nearly £19million from the Jordan Henderson sale to Liverpool – are ready to table a bid this week to push themselves to the head of the queue. Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Liverpool have all been credited with an interest in the player, but few are prepared to pay the high premium that Wigan have put on him.

Newcastle will decide this week whether they will launch a new offer for the France international and believe the winger would like to return to Tyneside.

But N’Zogbia is also keen on re-uniting with Steve Bruce, as well as former team-mate and friend Titus Bramble.

Sunderland want 10 players now that they have the Henderson cash, as Bruce plots a massive overhaul of his Black Cats squad.

As well as N’Zogbia they want David Vaughan, Seb Larsson, Kieren Westwood, Wes Brown, John O’Shea, Darron Gibson, David Ngog, DJ Campbell and Connor Whickham.

If Bruce manages to pull it off, fans would forgive the club the sale of Henderson – and Darren Bent, who left in January.

Liverpool "Agree Fee and Terms for Wigan Winger Charles N'Zogbia" Agency Claims

Sports Management and Entertainment agency Triple S have sensationally claimed that Liverpool FC have "agreed a fee" and "terms with the player's representatives" for the transfer of Wigan Athletic's winger Charles N'Zogbia.

Launching a countdown to an 'exclusive' announcement at 7pm U.K. time on the social networking site Twitter, Triple S went on to state:

"Ladies & Gents, the identity of the mystery player that Liverpool Football Club have agreed personal terms with is Charles N’Zogbia.

A fee has been agreed with Wigan, personal terms have been agreed with the player’s representatives & the player will undergo a medical and sign a contract when he returns from holiday. The deal is not yet ‘official’ but subject to a medical being passed, N’Zogbia will be a Liverpool player."

The Triple S Sports Twitter account, which has close to 4000 followers, was immediately subject to a throng of questions about the legitimacy of the statements, especially since no official statement from either club has been forthcoming.

N'Zogbia himself was a large part of the reason that Wigan survived relegation from the Premier League this season, chipping in with 9 league goals in 34 games, as well as countless assists.

Formerly of Newcastle, N'Zogbia can play on either flank or behind a forward and though is blessed with pace and trickery, found consistency in performances something of a problem during his early days.

Damien Comolli, Liverpool's Director of Football, and Kenny Dalglish the club manager have both been in attendance at Wigan games over the past six months and speculation raged for some time over who they were watching; as well as N'Zogbia, James McCarthy and Hugo Rodallega were put forward as names linked with the Reds.

Whether or not the revelation on Twitter proves to be true or not remains to be seen, but if you believe the news then Charles N'Zogbia seems one step closer tonight to joining Liverpool.
