Mixed signals on Rodrygo and I haven't heard any links to anyone else that is as good as Diaz. Have my reservations about Rodrygo at the price quoted (as I've posted about elsewhere) but I'm not aware of alternatives mooted that are even in his ballpark.
I'm perversely looking forward to the meltdown on here if Lucho does leave & we don't replace him. Front line options - Salah, Ektitiktktiktitk and Gakpo, full fucking stop

Assuming Elliott, Chiesa and Nunez all go, Wirtz can't play as a 9, and the young lad on the left doesnt start to get more minutes. It's not ideal obviously, but we have options when you consider Salah is guaranteed most games, with Frimpong in reserve. Ideally its Diaz or Rod, but we'll see what happens. Luckily we have versatility with Wirtz and Ek who can potentially cover other positions.

Agree. And it's not impossible that Gakpo starts even if Diaz stays. It's the ability to give different looks and mitigate for potential injuries or loss of form that I'm concerned about.
We sold Mané to them as well. I really think this move makes a lot of sense for us economically and from a future planning sense. Hopefully, it does not cause any near-term issues.

They bombed the Wirtz transfer, Rafael Leao wasn't keen on the move, Stuttgart are holding firm on their valuation of Woltemade...
Nico Williams used Bayern as leverage to get the best offer from Barcelona - but then ultimately decided to stay in Bilbao due to the back lash (and also for tax purposes).
Add to that - Musiala is out for a while with injury.
Bayern are absolutely desperate - they will make a big name signing but they will have to overpay for sure.
