Isakly what we need

The only way we're getting Isak is if he causes a fuss at Newcastle.

I used to think that but is it really true? Generally clubs don't keep players who want to leave. I think if he tells them he wants out it's more likely to happen than not. They'll want a lot more than £120m though imo. If I had to bet it'll be for like £130m rising to 160 or so with add ons.

Causing a fuss would be him telling Newcastle that he wants to leave

Ya can’t see it. He’ll get the contract he wants from this.

What a risk it would be to play 130m for a player with terrible groins.

I had dismissed this, but Newcastle going for Ekitike changes everything. The fee would obviously be fucking mental, but it would be no doubt be exciting. Slots already proven ability to reduce our injuries gives me some confidence that we could manage him well enough to give him a chance prove himself worth it.

This feels like a turning point of a summer for FSG. Although there will likely be few dry summers after this one, we are starting to act the golden goose of their portfolio, mixing market efficiently with bags of cash. It's very surreal.

It's not really though is it? Wirtz told Leverkusen he wanted to leave - was that causing a fuss?

I think generally causing a fuss would be making official transfer requests, going on strike, public pronouncements, that kind of thing.

Well, its a bit different with Wirtz. Feels like Leverkusen were prepared for it. He was being chased by Bayern all season.
Imo Isak telling them he wants to leave now would somewhat disrupt their pre season plans.
Ok, maybe its not causing a fuss, but its at least a headache for them.

I think Newcastle are well prepared for this.

Liverpool was always going for Ekitike if Isak stayed. Newcastle just started the dominoes falling with their bid.

They are willing to sell, they just want BIG money. Same as us with Diaz.

Anyway I'll be happy with either Isak or Ekitike. Just dont fk it up now and end up with neither

David Lynch said that Hughes is really good friends with Eddie Howe - apparently they chat all the time. This definitely didn’t come out of the blue.
