Isakly what we need

Yer man Adam Clery did a great video on his strengths and relative weaknesses. Long story short, he is amazing at anticipating and reading the best place to be in the box and scores the vast majority of his goals in that predatory fox in the box way, despite being able to score bangers from outside the box too. He could up his assist rate even though it is decent, and his biggest weakness is when he has too much time like in one-on-ones. Defenders are always immediately switched onto him, and yet he manages to make mugs of them repeatedly.

Watched that last night - very good - I like Cleary’s videos - I think he just done another one on Isak’s finishing.

I also read a really interesting article on Substack about Isak - why we wanted him and his he’ll fit in.

It’s really, really long though - I can post a link, might be able to copy and paste the text if anyone wants to read it.

It goes into a bit of detail on our “posession value model” which is what we use to indentify attacking players to fit our style (apparently it’s the measure that identified Salah as the better option than Brandt) and goes into things like “Zone 14 link-up ply”, pressing triggers, ball progression and off-ball movement.

I’m starting to seek out a few more things on Substack - unfortunately a lot require subscriptions, but there’s some really good stuff in there.

Stop banging on about Bots, what is the massive issue worrying about bots?

It’s fucking well unusual on a forum.

So what, let’s imagine it is a bot, so fucking what… what it is affecting?

You need to get over this shit.

Someone send this cunt a gCaptcha to complete
