Isakly what we need

VAR can review anything they believe could be a red regardless of card initially shown. They can't rescind or award a yellow which I guessing is what you mean
I'm saying if they believe its a yellow. They wont intervene.

Which is what is likely happened.

Wonder if he’ll be back for the World Cup.

FFS Mickey Van der Ven didn’t even get a card for breaking someone’s leg. VAR me arse

Sweden have a play off game in late March. Doubt he’ll be fit for that game.

Van der Ven should get some retrospective punishment, and hopefully someone will suggest to penalize those scissor kicks.
Absolute cunt of challenge.

There are world cup qualifiers still? In March? As if the World Cup wasn’t a joke enough. I thought every possible recognized country had qualified anyway. Maybe that will be once they extend it to 64 in Saudi.

The UEFA playoffs are end of March. Two games if you win the first. Ireland play a Czech Republic. Maybe Denmark if we win that one.

Yes, quickly turning away from the Frankenstein of a game at the national level - especially if we don’t qualify!!

@Hansern (I think), 'scissor' challenges are so frequent it would be hard to police them as a 100% can't do. Most come about due to the angle of approach, speed of the two players and the way the tackling leg moves, the following leg has to follow. I'm completely guessing but I would airily guess that the slow re-appearance of this is due to the players, both defenders and attackers, getting faster and faster.

In my day scissor challenges were done by fat bellied defenders as a means of stopping me making them run (and probably vomit!)

I think its possible. Certainly at that speed and how he hits his leg. Insane that he isnt at least given a yellow card.

Playoffs will continue until Ireland qualify, so everyone can talk about the "plucky Irish" as they get knocked out in the first round and the fabled Green army pick up litter in a park.
