News coming out now that our interest in Andre has ended and we won’t be making a move.

When Andre rejected us in the summer, we signed Endo and Gravenberch instead.

Thats what’s doing the rounds - disappointing if true as Andre would be a perfect replacement for Thiago

We must have our eyes on someone else that is a more natural 6. Gravenberch instead of Andre I can live with.

What has ended it all of a sudden? Must’ve ended in the summer after we signed Endo as you alluded to. Doesn’t make sense why reports in November would now say our interest is over.

We’ll probably end up doing what we usually do and wait until Thiago fucks off before getting a replacement.

Mhm...not surprised.
But we are getting a someone who's like a new signing in January...

Because we are Liverpool and this is how we roll. We're the Antony of the transfer market.

@Fabio - well lets forget my dumb questions and focus on ypur question, especially the game intelligence....answer ...NO he does not coz the cunt is going to Fulham of all places. Clearly winning is too much for him.

@bluebell - its south american style and football and that made me like the sport in the first place. But I think its really poor now, and dont rate many players from that continent anymore. I would prefer we took a risk on a young European DM.
What year did they become poor, and objective forms of measurement did you use to conclude they're poor. I have lamented the club for not going for talent earlier despite them fully knowing how good that talent would be. There's absolutely no pleasing you!

In the last 7 years I don't see many quality South American players, I find them quite average, and we have 4 of the best from that continent playing for us. The Brazil team which I use to follow like crazy many years ago has not produced many decent players in their Neymar era. In terms of pure attacking talent I only see VJ of Real Madrid, the other attackers are just over-hyped. I think Caicedo was over-hyped, and Enzo of Chelsea ain't worth the 100M+ they paid for him. Having watched Andre in that final - I don't know if he will be good enough for our league despite the stats etc. As a team - if we spend anything north of 10M GBP, then we need the final article or a guy that is a sub in our first team. As I have stated - who the fuck wants to spend anything more than 10M on a sideways and occasionally forward passer who has to play it safe all the time.

To be honest I just want Thuram, purely because he is a massive guy and it in him to play the progressive 6 type role.

You were doing so well - have you come off your meds or something?

South America is still producing talent, it may not catch your eyes as you're fixated on attacking players (honestly though have you scouted?). Now the Thuram train has sailed, and may be Andre too... As long as the club get's a competent 6, I am not gonna moan. However, if they continue to go into the new year not playing Endo and continue to use Ali Mac, I'll scream in CAPS

Being linked with this kid, first time I've heard of or seen him. He isn't exciting to say the least but he is a tall strong 6. If money is tight, then Yousef Fofana, Nico Williams and Lloyd Kelly in Jan (not gonna happen, I know). Probably get all 3 for £30m

Liverpool to reignite interest in Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly?

Liverpool may reportedly make an approach for Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly during the January transfer window.

The Cherries won a hotly-contested race for Kelly when he left Bristol City in 2019, despite interest from bigger clubs.
Since then, the versatile defender has proven to be a valuable asset to Bournemouth, making a total of 117 starts and seven substitute outings in all competitions.

Kelly is regarded as a leadership figure behind the scenes and has recently worn the captain's armband in the absence of goalkeeper Neto.
However, with Kelly having less than a year remaining on his contract at the Vitality Stadium, admirers are emerging from elsewhere as they contemplate a move for a potential free agent.

At the present time, there appears to be little prospect of the 25-year-old being open to a renewal given the profile of team that are said to be monitoring the situation.

Earlier this month, it was reported that AC Milan are interested in acquiring Kelly for nothing next summer or, at the very least, a cut-price fee in January.
Nevertheless, it is plausible that a wide array of Premier League clubs could also move for Kelly, who has seven starts and one substitute appearances in 2023-24.
According to Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to make a formal bid at the midway point of the campaign.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has been interested in Kelly on more than one occasion in recent years without ever coming close to getting a deal over the line.

With Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip each 32 years of age, though, there is a greater urgency to freshen up the backline, particularly if they can bring in an experienced head who is domestic-based and can play in a number of roles.
The report adds that Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in securing a deal for Kelly, likely for similar reasons to their Premier League rivals.
Given the level of spending last summer, Bournemouth officials may be more inclined to generate a fee for Kelly in January in order to ensure that they do not lose out from an FFP perspective.

Is he any better than giving Quansah more game time?

If not, what’s the point?

We have enough shoddy squad players who aren't good enough, we need to add to the core group of 12-13 players we have who are first team material.

Lloyd Kelly's 25 and spent more time in the championship, what's he going to do for us in terms of trophy pursuits? Nothing. Smells of another Ben Davies so fuck that off.

We need a RB and DM in Jan. Are Rensch and Andre the answers? Who knows. Hey, maybe we can turn to our amazing scouts and they'll have a list of great talents we could line up.

The RB & DM problems can be solved by Bradley & Badger, if we decide not to sign another RB or DM.

I agree Lloyd Kelly might not be good enough - so what’s the point - he’s no better than Quansah at CB and I’m not sure he works at LB.

Personally, I would like a younger specialist DM that can also effectively progress play and carry the ball through opposition press.

I also reckon a LB is more of a priority than a RB - but it too can probably wait till summer - when the big spend needs to go on a CB.

If we were looking for a 3rd player - I wouldn’t say no to potential Mo cover / or future replacement.

£40m for this kid, and we're supposedly interested. I've come late to the Ezequiel Fernandez party but that kid looks sensational, and available for £15m.

If we're in the mood to spend £40m on 17 yr olds....

He seems to have the power but can he play football, linking up the game and working the extras in the match. Physically, he seems to have lots of motor in him and if he can play real football he would be a good player. I see a bit of Sadio Mane in him but also some traces of Adama Traore in him too. I would want him in our U18s
