Liverpool related transfer speculation

Can't wait to see him in pre-season in 5 years time before leaving the club having not made a single first team appearance, exciting times.

Aren’t you constantly moaning about us not signing young talent from around the world?

I wonder whether Brentford is a good place to go at the minute if Frank takes the Spurs job.

A bad managerial appointment and potential senior player exodus could seem them drop like a stone.

This isn't what I meant. We've got about 503949 young keepers at the club, so it doesn't count.

Besides Hungary isn't in South America nor Africa last time I checked which are the 2 regions I've specifically beat the drum over.

Fair enough.

Fair point. But they're a well run club. Presumably their analytics approach will extend to selecting their next manager.

Would laugh if their analytics point to Ange but they'll prob sign the guy from Bodo Glimt or somethjng

If their analytics point to Ange - they must be outsourcing it to Dreamie or someone typed the wrong formula into the spreadsheet.

If Utd were smart they sack Amiron and hire Ange

I’d love that - big Ange would be an absolute hero for taking them down.

Could you imagine that high line with Harry Maguire & de Ligt - it would be delicious to watch them ship goals by the truckload…. And Onana in nets.

This would be better than if they burnt every copy of the Star Wars sequels and went back to George Lucas original plans and re-made them all…. And re-did the final season of GoT as well!!!!

Why is there so much Cherki vs Wirtz chatter? Isn’t Cherki more of a RW?

He seems good, and obviously a good price. But they aren’t similar.

Not sure why Cherki would want to go to a Pep team, look how he’s killed all wide forwards: Grealish, Foden, Doku, Savinho.

This season Cherki has been more of a RW by Lyon. But it's close overall between the 10 and RW in his career to date.

I think the same. The only thing that might swing it it coaching in the Champions League, although I'd argue in Spurs case, it will be a short lived experience, the stadium and a potential salary bump, but personally I wouldn't leave a stable, well managed club like Brentford or Brighton for them. It's best suited to a young manager with something to prove of for someone out of work. What they ideally need is an Emery type level manager that wants to coach in the PL, but they don't grow on trees. Their last managerial search was a shit show an so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Depends on your point of view, I guess, but if I were Thomas Frank there's no way I'd leave Brentford to go to Tottenham and work for Daniel Levy.

Spurs will probably pay him more and jokes aside, Spurs are more likely to win things and have CL football.

Brentford are a well run club, but they’re not likely to qualify for CL or win anything.

Spurs are a bigger club, so it is a step up.

I don't actually disagree with any of that, but it leaves out the fact that Brentford are in a good place whereas Spurs are a mess and likely to remain so with Levy at the helm who, like Woodward at ManU previously, is good on the money side but hopeless at footballing decisions. I might be tempted if they were taken over and I were OK with the new ownership but, as things currently stand, I wouldn't touch them with yours.

It could be a take it now or it won’t happen again. If they ever get in a good place they’ll stick with the manager who got them there.

Also on a positive you’re coming in after the worst league performance in their history. It isn’t a tough act to follow.
