Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

There were people complaining about Mac Allister when he was signed - not strong or fast enough.

Robbo and Fabinho took time to settle.

Bobby, though largely BRodgers fault was poor initially.

Didn’t Suarez take a bit of time to settle properly too?
I was at Suarez’s debut. Stoke at home.

Looked massively unfit following his ban. Still was massively best player on the pitch.

I think Wirtz has looked ok - he’s been making a lot of really smart runs that his team mates just aren’t acting on.

Also, I really wouldn’t downplay the fact that he’s yet to play with Gravy AND Mac or Dom in midfield with him - that all makes a difference to defence as well.

I get it.

Our most expensive player needs others to make him look good 😉

"The motivation for me this season is somewhat different, I'm not looking for individual achievements because I've won them all."

It was hard not to see what Bobby and Suarez brought even if they were not shitting goals and assists as soon as they started.

Most players would be happy with Suarez' first half season with us as their career peak though. You can hardly call it a failure. Its just Carroll came in at the same time and shit the bed so bad that we didnt have anything to celebrate.

Well… it sort of is a team game.

More like, everyone will look better in a settled side when they’re all on the same wavelength.

Please remain calm - it’ll be fine.

He’s not in form at all is he, taking that extra touch or hesitating.

Should have just given him a one year contract and made him work for an extension again 😉.

I’m sure he’ll be fine and in form again soon - no need to panic.

Yep not his best game. Got better in the second half but snatched at a couple.

Best thing he did was let Dom have the free kick and he tracked back a lot after the goal.

Nah. A 1 year and he goes on a free. Now we'll get £100m from the Saudis or we'll keep him out of spite.

Kinda funny how many 0s and 1s there are there, to go along with his 1/10 performance. Fucking rank, worst individual performance I've seen of any Liverpool player since the Karius/Lovren days.

Trying to pick shit in Mo's game is pointless, you all know he will come good and shut us all up. If he has a shit season and gets 13GA in total, then that will be outstanding coz we have given extensions to worse players who achieved a lot less.

At least some defensive stats there this game, if he can improve his attacking stats then we can win some games post int break.

Wouldn’t it be nice, for a change, if Mo was at his lethal best, banging in goals and creating shitloads of assists at the back end of the season when we’re in a position to win multiple trophies.

It's too early to tell, but this may be the first time since he joined that we have sufficient attacking options to match his output, and not miss him so much. He isn't at his best, but he was still heavily involved in the winners in the first two games, hopefully we can wean ourselves off him a bit with Ekitike, Wirtz and Isak once they settle.

The hope he has a monster second half of the season.... can't imagine it though

We have to be clear minded about this if his form continues to deteriorate whilst we skew our system around him. He’s been an absolute legend and true unicorn player but the common defence on here of ‘it’s ridiculous to drop the best player in the league / at Liverpool’ is sentimental, subjective bollocks. He simply isn’t anywhere near that on form right now and is at an age where deterioration is inevitable at some point.

He deserves time and respect, but he’s currently playing like a 24/25 Chiesa and if it continues, we’re simply skewing our system unnecessarily and not playing our best eleven at a time when we’ve got a plethora of top quality young players.

The problem is, whos the backup RW? 25/26 Chiesa

Depends on the system, we’re not wedded to a 4-3-3 or 4231 especially with Isak joining.

As I’ve said elsewhere (and before the Newcastle game), I’d prefer to play Szobo in front of Frimpong on that flank in a 4231…we’d be infinitely better defensively and arguably (right now) at least as effective in an attacking sense.
