Other clubs transfer news (home and abroad)

50m again? I thought these platers were being touted in the 70s. Or Brighton offering them a discount because they owe Chavski after ripping them off previously with previous sales.

I don't understand Chelsea's model. They're buying up young talent from all over the world like a Dortmund or Brighton.

Except they're buying off of Dortmund and Brighton, who have already extracted the transfer value out of most these players.

I half think they're going for the "Chelsea reject" market. How many have left them and gone on to bigger and better things?

So they're trying to get them for a reasonable fee then we'll them on 2 years later where inflation has slightly jacked up the price

It's more to do with wages than resale value. They want to sign a squad of players at 21-24 before they sign that mega contract at 25-26. It's a model that has left them short of any real experience of winning anything across the park. They're kinda hoping one (large) group of players will grow together into a real force and I think it will remain hope. Most major trophy winning teams have at least three or four seasoned pros that can guide the rest or step up when the pressure is on.

All that money Chelsea have spent, and there's only Enzo, Caicedo (both hugely over-priced) and Palmer who I'd keep (and even then I wouldn't take them ahead of our equivalent players).
They really are throwing shit against the wall and hoping some of it sticks.
Madness.

But the number of transfer fees they're paying and the number of players they're paying wages to negate any savings.

Not to mention, this isn't North American sports where contracts mean cost certainty. If a player wants out - or wants a raise - he'll likely get it.

I mean, Palmer got a new contract a year after he signed. They're not even reaping the purported benefits for the players they have hit it out of the park with.

But most won't make it and 2 years of their (very high) salaries are going to have to be added before they come close to making a profit (less tax and agent's fees). Then they may still have to contribute to their salaries for the next 5 years too (for those that haven't improved / are worth another club paying them). I guess they have ran the figures but for the life of me I can't see it working out.

I kind of like Joao Pedro to Chelsea in football terms - they need a player up top who can hold up the ball and so interplay with teammates, last season it was too one-dimensional with Jackson and their cut-in-and-shoot wingers. I think he can be a building block of a cohesive attack. He is positionally versatile too, which is another plus.

We don’t need someone like Pedro because we got Wirtz. BTW Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea are looking to sign another attacker to add to Delap, Gittens and Pedro. They are not quite satiated yet.

Can Chelsea not decide they need Nunez at all costs then????

I hope Nunez goes Saudi... He will still get picked for Uruguay and we get £50m+.
Whats happening with the Cheesy transfer? if Eze goes the Assanal, Palace will need a replacement and no better than a world cup winner

Last season showed some major issues with Joao Pedro's attitude and he didnt have the best of seasons either if you remove the penalty goals.
There is a reason Brighton are happy moving him on for 50 mill after initial talks of a fee in the 100 mill mark.

Will probably be a bit meh at Chelsea as well.

It looks to me like prices have actually gone down a bit this summer. Might be something to do with PSR, can't think of any other reason. But there's been quite a few transfers at surprisingly reasonable prices now. I actually thought Kerkez was pretty cheap for the best young LB in the PL.

He looks like someone released after 10 years in prison and getting his first job as a janitor. Kind of feel for him, but then I remember he is a multi-millionaire and most of his problems were self-inflicted.

Why are they speaking in English BTW?

Looks like Pogba sent his older brother to sign the contract.

Probably because the General manager is Brazilian/Italian and doesn’t speak French.

fuh uh uck him

his jewellery is probably worth more than my house and he just got a years holiday. i don’t think i could care any less about his plight.
